Very tasty stew indeed! I cut most of the spicy ingredients by half because I have kids. I omitted the red chili flakes all togther. I used kielbosa - to cut down on spice and also used 1/2 the amt of chicken stock and molassas as some other people suggested. I also mixed in some broccoli and served it over rice with corn bread. I can't wait to make again using all of the spices when the kids are away.

Very Tasty! I also used less molasses and to kick up the heat, I used chipotle olive oil - which gave it a very nice amount of spice. I'll definitely make it again.

Not so great, I made the recipe exactly as listed. I found the soup to have to much of a sweetness instead of the savory I anticipated. The heat level was not too bad. I just found the overall flavor profile a bit off.

What a tasty stew! I adjusted the heat a little by using 1 jalapeño instead of 2 and using half the red pepper flake. It was filling and delicious, everyone loved it and there was a bit left for lunch YUM. Will definitely make again. Thanks Aaron!

I like heat, and I would expect a recipe that has "spicy" in its name to be, spicy. But this was too spicy for me and my family, and I mention this having used only one-half the amount of red pepper flakes called for, just one jalapeno pepper, and only a few grounds of fresh black pepper instead of an entire tablespoon. In fact, the measurements just seem off. One tablespoon of kosher salt! Half that amount is enough, and I was using low sodium chicken stock. Also, this needs less stock or more chicken. If less stock was used, you'd definitely want to cut back even more on the seasonings. As written, this is not a recipe I'd make again, but I'm not so sure I'd come back to this even with the changes I made and recommend.

This recipe was great! I used chick andouille sausage and servered over rice topped with Sour cream and corn bread. Spicy but my family loves spicy! Definitely a recipe I'd recommend.
