Wonderful salad. For those who are substituting feta for the blue cheese try a higher fat blue. Looks for blues in oil or those called creamy and you won't be disappointed. The blue will be a smooth and tangy partner to the pancetta instead of competing with the saltiness like a feta would.

I think I would try this but substitute feta for the bleu cheese. I like bleu cheese but it can be overpowering (as many said here...and feta is a lower fat cheese, still tasteful. Hopefully it will go with the figs too, since it will still be "sweet and savory." I have not yet tried it this way, (or at all, but it looked delicious on tv, and I've never thought to use figs in a salad like this...looking forward to trying it. Big Daddy is one of my favorite FN shows...he always has some great recipes! Keep up the good work!

Our figs started coming in so made this for some friends that had never tried fresh figs. (Made all the recipes from this episode actually. Used feta instead of blue cheese. There were no left overs and I made extra! Great flavors and easy to make. Another great do ahead recipe.

I would use a sturdier bean next time. Maybe a pinto bean. Cut down on the garlic and definitely Blue cheese to taste. Other wise it is a nice change for a bean type salad.

Great salad. Hold the blue cheese and add to taste. Blue cheese over powered salad. Great color and great aroma.

I loved this salad. It was simple. I didn't even have figs so I made it without them. It is a cool meal to have in the frig and not have to heat up the kitchen. The flavors are awesome. I tossed some croutons on mine as I served it up and it was delicious.

Easy to make and forget what the previous poster stated, who in their right mind would put the juice of the beans and dump the whole can? Only a very inexperience cook or a moron. Everyone knows to strain beans that come from a can, c'mon.
