    When I made this, I did not measure the spices/herbs for the cracker topping.; it was not as powerful, but we could still taste the spices. I used cheddar cheese instead of Camembert & I added a little monterey jack cheese. The recipe said to blanch the broccoli if using fresh; I didn't blanch it & I loved how the broccoli came out. Nice & green & not mushy.

    Never again will I suffer through another holiday with that awful green bean casserole. I will make this wherever I have to go and watch everyone gobble it down.
    I was concerned about the amount of cayenne and black pepper...but its PERFECT!
    I am a confirmed recipe tweeker and I can't think of a thing I would do to change it. If I have some leftover chicken though, I would definitely cube it and add.
    Why the other person below threw it out is beyond me.
    I will make this again and share the recipe.

    I ALWAYS take broccoli casserole for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in my family. Everyone loves my recipe. Well, I felt like doing things differently this year, so I made this recipe-I was a HUGE hit!!! (Better than mine! It's the spice in the cracker topping that makes it soooo good!! Great recipe!!

    I cut out the butter completely, sprayed the dish with Pam. Used Velveeta and Cheddar. It was perfect. The Ritz Crackers are great. Aaron, keep those recipes coming. You like lots of taste and calories and the fattening stuff can always be modified by those of us who prefer a lighter dish but with similar big flavors!

    I never would have thought to pair broccoli with camembert cheese. American cheese, yes, cheddar, certainly but a dessert cheese like camembert - pure genius. It gives it such a unique flavor that I will always make this recipe for broccoli casserole now. My husband said it was the best broccoli casserole he had ever tasted and I would have to agree. The compliment of fresh herbs and the smokey paprika adds color and bursts of flavor in this nice, easy dish to make!!
