I've made Roasted Prime Rib once or twice before, but this was an excellent guide to a great dinner. I made a few changes; I used McCormicks Montreal Steak Seasoning, instead of the combination.I covered the entire roast with the spices, and then poured olive oil over it all and put it on the gas grill to sear the fat cap and set the spices. Watch it closely, as the fat will flare up, but turn it on all sides and take off the fire when nicely browned; about 10-15 minutes. Then followed the rest of Aaron's recipe, in the oven for 1.5 - 2 hours. Be sure to use a thermometer to check the temp, don't over cook it. The horseradish sauce was perfect.

Just made the prime rib - outstanding!
Did not make the horse radish sauce - just used regular horse radish. Still, very, very good.

This was the best prime rib recipe ever. Tried it for the first time 2 yrs ago (Christmas everyone has been talking about it every holiday since. People just helped themselves to seconds and thirds and there was nothing left the next day. I will use this recipe everytime I make prime rib. It yielded very best prime rib I've ever tasted.
Thanks for sharing.

This recipe was amazing for our post season Christmas celebration with our adult kids. I am a simple cook so was worried about what to have for 14 mixed with adults and children. It was simple and easy to prepare and came out perfect. The reviews were relective of the recipe and not of the preparer.

I made this for our new year's dinner and it came out perfect! I seared it on a grill and threw it in the oven, came out beautiful. I had a slightly larger roast than the recipe so I was a little scared but my aunt helped keep an eye on it with me! Everyone was raving about my dinner for days! Awesome

This is a fabulous coating for prime rib. I seared it on a hot grill before putting it in the oven and it was fantastic. Did not have granulated garlic but put slivers into the roast

I had never made a prime rib before (or anything of this sort, really - breakfast is my thing, so I came here to find something easy and tasty for my first Christmas dinner. I followed the instructions exactly while making this last year (now several times since and to this day, people who are actually seasoned cooks w/ very picky palettes BEG me for the exact recipe. Thank you for being such a lifesaver!!
