Another creative recipe -- glad to hear more are coming this winter! I tried it with pistachios to "go green" and it worked well.

I made this with both of my daughters. We had fun cooking together and everyone loved the result. I hate mayonnaise based coleslaw - but this was so good I wanted to hide the leftovers

These are spices I would never have thought of combined with the word slaw. I live in the south and it's usually sweet vinegar or mayonnaise slaw. This is a new and delicious favorite.

I used prepared cole-slaw mix so I wouldn't have to cut and a little less oil than Aarti recommended on the show but this was fabulous! it went really well with the pork but I would make this to eat with chicken or just by itself.

As I've vowed to become a weekday vegetarian, I been in search of recipes which will nourish my body AND please my palate...you my dear Aarti have been a great inspiration in my quest! This cool and refreshing, crunchy salad was A-MAY-ZING! I used pepitas instead of peanuts, since I had some left over from the Massaged Kale Salad and boy was I pleased. Although I was disappointed to find it the flavor balance is not the same the next day, I couldn't let your rating suffer. I just know now I will need to adjust the recipe to make only as much as will be eaten right away. YUM, YUM!

I made this with the pulled pork from the same episode (which was over the top amazing!, and I just thought it was OK. The hubby loved it, though, but he's a bigger fan of cabbage than I am. It seemed like something was missing, but I could have under-seasoned with salt. I did like the tang of the lime juice, but I thought it was overly cabbage-y. I didn't use near the whole head of cabbage. I used a food processor to shred the cabbage, and I wish I had shredded it with a knife so the pieces would be more uniform with the matchstick apples. I may try the pre-shredded bag of cabbage next time. I also found the apples to be really cumbersome to cut in matchsticks - anyone have tips on how to make that job easier?

One thing I did do was to make this a couple of hours ahead of time and let the flavors marry before serving. I think that makes a big difference, and I'm guessing that this dish is even better today than when I originally served it.

Even though I didn't adore it, it was a pretty healthy side dish and a nice complement to the pulled pork, so I'll make again...but may continue to tweak the flavors.

I both liked and disliked this dish. It was different and I enjoyed the apples, but I found the dressing too tart. I may not have used enough cabbage as I bought a bag of shredded cabbage instead of chopping my own so the cabbage/dressing ratio may have been too off, but even though I added more honey, I still found it way too lime juicy for my taste. Also, the recipe didn't say how much oil to add so I may have been off there too. I don't think I will make it again, but I might try to make a variation of it that I like better. I still love Aarti and her show!
