    The crunchy tart apples with the fresh cabbage and the lime dressing was a huge hit! I didn't have garam masala, but I looked it up and added a tiny pinch of cumin, cayenne, ginger and cinnamon combination and it was delightful. The peanuts were a surprise taste and my book club friends really loved it! I can't wait to try it again with garam masala !

    Very tasty and there was no bitterness to mine. Love the crunch and subtile flavors of the cumin

    Loved it! Who would have thought of cabbage with granny smith apples. Nice sweet sour taste of apple and crunch of cabbage and peanuts and sour taste of limes with sweet Agave nectar instead honey was fabulous of each bite in my mouth; peanut cruch reminded me of asian foods. Quick and simple and healthy. Agave nectar is low glycemic index and good for sugar levels.

    Too sour? You probably didn't add enough olive oil. On the show, she said "Two parts oil to one part acid" (lime juice is the acid in this recipe. ALWAYS TASTE AS YOU COOK, people. I added more honey and oil. My limes were juicier and less sweet. You can only know by tasting. I left out the peanuts too. This was fresh, crunchy, and interesting.

    I agree that the recipes online may be missing steps or specifics on ingredients. Ultimately, cooks need to use their own judgment, and make tweaks, based on how things taste. For me, recipes are a launching pad. If it seems to be missing something, experiment. It's only food.

    Null obviously has too much time on his hands to be checking when people are going online, don't you agree?? You're ridiculous! What was that run down of ingredients about? Trying to act like a know it all? Then you get on Next Food Network Star and do what she did. GO HOME NULL!

    I wanted to give this minus 5 rating.

    I just noticed that http://aartipaarti.com went online at 2 pm PST, after being offline all day today. That means Aarti may be online and reading comments (as well as putting in fake +5 comments ;

    Don't rate your own stupid recipes or ask your cronies to do that for you!

    I made this and was surprised and pleased with the fresh flavor. Due to peanut allergies, I subbed almonds. Super! Otherwise I followed the instructions. Like others, I didn't know how much oil to add, but it turned out great. What a great introduction to Indian spices! I hope Aarti keeps up the good work!
