I followed the recipe as directed & made these for a party. There were some guests that surprised me by even trying them, but everyone raved about them!
I thought my husband (who loves spicy food would not be impressed saying these were bland. In particular, I suspected he might be critical about using apple as part of the filling. But...he loved them, too!
I did add cooking time as we like our bacon crispy. I can see using this as a base recipe and creating many variations.

These were so tasty and original. Nice balance between the light heat of the jalapeno and smooth taste of the cream cheese mixture. The apple adds a little tart while the onion adds a bit of spice. An original appetizer to serve to guests who will keep guessing the ingredients.

I loved these! I made more filling and used it in Poblano Peppers, halved and seeded with a piece of prosciutto over top...baked..delicious.

Delicious! The plate was quickly emptied. Definitely spice up the filling with cayenne or hot sauce for some kick.

Made these for a Super Bowl party and the guests couldn't WAIT for them to get out of the oven because they smelled so good. The apple and green onion was an unexpected twist that really made these spectacular. I actually forgot the salt and pepper, and they were still delicious. I took the advice of lalala_no_no_10945540 and made some with mini sweet (bell peppers for those that didn't like the spice of the jalepenos (which really wasn't much at all anyway, and they turned out great. Definitely cook for longer than 30 minutes if you are buying bacon off the shelf. Mine took about 45 minutes for the bacon to crisp up. If you can get really thin sliced bacon from the meat counter, then the 30 minutes is probably spot on. Thanks Aarti! Great recipe!

These were the bomb! I cooked them for my super bowl party and they were a hit. I did add a splash of lime juice to the recipe. I also made a second batch using only a 1/4 of the granny smith apple, and added a package of crab meat. My boyfriend loved it. I did have to cook them an additional 15 to 20 minutes to insure the bacon doneness.

I am not a jalapeno fan so I substituted yellow chillis. Also added the balsamic vinegar as suggested by another. Very creamy & delicious but not spicy. Next time I"ll add spice to the cream cheese and use sweet mini peppers instead.
