such an unusual combination but i love how aartis recipes sound. this superbowl appetizer was incredible - just the right blend of sweet and spicy. so simple to make - i cant wait to have them again. i am now researching making my own garam masala and trying more aarti party treats.

We made these twice, using the recipe as written. Looks like we're in the minority along with realtoramy1211 for only middle of the road opinion. Glad we tried them, but not enough "all that" to make it to a keeper file. But we offer couple of tips for those who try these:

1 Some reviewers reported less flavor than they expected. That may be true if you don't add enough salt to the filling. Counter intuitive when you're wrapping with bacon, but these need adequate salt in the filling to bring out the apple flavor.

2 Recipe did not make it clear "to peel or not to peel" the apple. We peeled.

3 Another reviewer suggested these were better if cooked longer than the recipe calls for. That was our experience as well. About 40 minutes worked best for us.

4 We found the black pepper to be superfluous in the filling and we omitted it the second time.

I made these for the Super Bowl. What a hit! I ended up w/ too much cream cheese because I thought said 2 pkgs. I saved it and today had some on toasted rye w/lox. YUMMM!!!!!!!!

My sister made these on Sunday for a Superbowl party. They were amazing!!!!!!!! The only change she made was to use turkey bacon instead. Didn't miss the fat one bit. Will definitely be at many future get togethers. Can be made ahead and refrigerated.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this recipe! (Helpful hint: use an orange peeler to scrape the membrane I added a few drops of liquid smoke to the cream cheese, used center cut bacon, the strips aren't as long and you can use an entire strip around each pepper, no toothpicks needed. Cannot wait to make these again and have a lot of variations rolling around in my head.

I made these for Superbowl yesterday and followed your recipe exactly. Everyone LOVED them and I couldn't keep myself away from them. In fact, I had four jalapenos left over and made these our new "Breakfast of Champions!" THANK YOU!

My husband and I made these for the superbowl yesterday! They were delicious! We made some changes...added a little balsamic to the cream cheese mixture as someone suggested, as well as some cayenne and hot sauce. We also got maple bacon and coated it in brown sugar/cayenne mix to give it a little kick. After scooping out the seeds, the jalepenos were not spicy enough, so we had to add our own spice. We used light cream cheese and the taste was great...everyone loved them!
