THIS. WAS. BRILLIANT!!!!! The only modification I made to the recipe was to add apple juice as I was out of brown sugar and had about 6 lbs of brisket...thought it looked like it needed some extra cooking liquid. This is definitely going into the regular rotation STAT. The gravy was amazing...the flavors are so deep and well balanced...rave rave rave. Great way to start the New Year!

Fantastic! So hearty and aromatic. I love getting such exotic flavors from an inexpensive piece of meat. Note that the brisket shrinks a bit. Three of us, no leftovers.

Amazing recipe! The gravy reminded me of korma sauce. =D

This was my first attempt at making any type of brisket and it was a huge success. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe; it was written well enough that this inexperienced cook was able to make it! It went really well with Aarti's Ezekiel Wheel Salad and Quick Pickled Cucumbers too!!

The only sad part is that the leftovers are all gone.

This is the best brisket I have ever tasted. It was very aromatic, my kids got really excited about the aroma alone. This will be served each holiday. Great job!!!

Amazing! I made this substituting brisket for venison stew meat. It was falling apart tender just like her brisket with fantastic flavor. This is a keeper. Thanks, Aarti!

My God, Aarti... SO delicious. The smell in the house while this was cooking was REALLY good!

I served the brisket with smashed red potatoes (champ style and steamed green beans. The kids weren't home for dinner tonight, so there'll be plenty of leftovers. I'm sure it's going to be even more delicious tomorrow...

Every Aarti recipe we've tried has been super delicious... Can't wait to try another.

It is rare that I wouldn't change anything, but Aarti's brisket is excellent and the aroma in the house was an extra treat. So tender that knives are not necessary and so flavorable that it is a guaranteed hit with everyone at the table.
