It was a little bland for me. I must have done something wrong! It just lacked the sweet, rich quality I crave from sloppy joes. I may try to tweak it a bit!

OMG - Have made this about 7 times now, last time this AM for my lunch. Crave this recipe, had to go and buy pistachios just to make this (I have tried with peanuts, too. I was skeptical of the raisins, but now, wouldn't change a thing. This recipe has me experimenting with different garam masala recipes...each has subtle differences. Would love to get Aarti's favorite garam masala recipe.

Delicious, tons of flavor. I just tried a variation using ground beef and I made "tacos" instead of sloppy joes. All else the same except no cream. It rocked!

I made this twice already & will do it again. This is da bomb. The layers of flavor, the crunch of the pistachioes & sweet of the raisins. I personally like more heat so I will use 2 serranos next time.

I have made this several times since this recipe first aired. My kids prefer it to "regular" sloppy joes. I used ground beef and omit the raisins, personal preference. Just delicious!

These were great! I love the addition of the pistachios.

My sister and I made this last night. Had to have the Garam Masala delivered; there was NONE anywhere around here.

We used a whole Serrano in the sauce, and actually minced a second whole one with the turkey and onions, and I have to say that while the flavors in this dish were lovely, it was a bit too suble for my tastes. When we do this again, we're going to have to add something... just have to figure out what.

But thank you for broadening our horizons once again, Aarti!

I LOVED this recipe! As a college student in an urban area, grocery shopping is a pain. This recipe helped me stretch ingredients I had & gave me an inexpensive spin on an already inexpensive comfort food. AND I can make a batch and then freeze in freezer bags! It cannot be beat. Thanks Aarti!

These are the best sloppy joes I've ever made. My husband, who HATES sloppy joes loved them. I made them with the massaged kale and he said it was one of the best meals I've made. Kids loved it too. Definately a keeper. Thanks Aarti!

I think this is a unique take on indian cuisine and a common american kid favorite. The garam masala and ginger help create a mellow but tasteful indian taste without overpowering the novice indian palate some may have. I like strong curry dishes, particularly those that are spicy, and this is refreshing change of pace. I don't think this recipe is for someone who wants a full indian experience, but is good for someone who wants a little indian cuisine exposure or simply a new take on a american childhood classic. I would sure have loved to have it in 4th grade instead of whatever it was that they served as a "sloppy joe."
