The coconut toffee was good. My children liked it, mainly, I'm guessing, because it was pink, sweet and Aarti made it! The grown-ups thought it was a little bland. Maybe I need to use a bit more cardamom? It reminds me of a macaroon and with some condensed milk added in, it might have been just that.
Aarti is interesting to watch. I enjoy learning about Indian cooking and have to introduce it slowly in my family!

I loved this recipe ! My mom used to make this for me, but there were to many steps because of the fresh coconut. But this recipe is quick and delicious. I love the way you take a twist on recipes keep it up. I tape all your shows and have tried all your recipes and they all turned out great. Thank you Aarti.

Toffee is basically made from butter & sugar & has a glossy surface hence your treat should be called Coconut Sweet & not Coconut Toffee.

sounds so simple. It is the syrup that is difficult to make. I would love to make this. I would not use food color. You look great with a rose in your hair. From whih part of India are you? What is the traditional festival recipe there? I would like you to make a vegetarian dish from your state in India. Good luck with the show. cannot understand why any one should hate you. May be they are related to that Latino woman who tried to sabotage your presentation in the contest

I love coconut. This reminds me of an old fashioned favorite called Coconut Slices where you had 3 layers of coconut-strawberry,vanilla and chocolate. I love being able to make this myself and the added cardamon is wonderful.
Everyone has different tastes and the great thing about recipes is if you don't like it-you never have to make it again. I always look at the majority of comments to see if it's the recipe or if it could perhaps be me. Looks like the majority likes this recipe and so do I.
    Thanks Aarti.

I forgot the part that said to cook it after you add the coconut "until it comes together into a ball" -- so mine came out too crumbly and not chewy. But it is still good, and the cardamom is a nice addition. To those who complained that it is too sweet -- hello! It is CANDY! You're not meant to have a big slab on a plate -- just eat it like you would eat candy...in moderation :D
