These were simply outrageous! I used one reviewer's "Hints" and bought a bag of cole slaw mix and cooked the fish, I used the cod, on a baking sheet in the oven - watching closely so it didn't overcook. Both were big time savers. I also doubled the fish and sauce just because I knew we would want our tacos to be loaded! We all loved them including our 7 year-old. As my husband said, this recipe is a keeper!

Really, really good. Made these New Year's Eve and tripled the recipe for a crowd. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents liked them. All the prep took a bit longer than I anticipated, but there are some shortcuts.
Hints: 1 - You can make the mayo ahead of time--it keeps in the fridge for several days. Don't skimp on the quantity or the spices--it's what makes these special. 2 - You can bake the fish if you have a large amount, don't want to deal with frying it, or have a delicate fish like tilapia. Just arrange in one layer in a large baking dish or jelly roll pan -- cookie sheet with one-inch walls -- and bake at 350 degrees for about 15-25 minutes, being careful not to overcook. 3 - You can use a bagged coleslaw mix -- preshredded cabbage/carrots -- to save time. 4 - The banana pepper rings aren't absolutely necessary, but they do add a crunchy twang.
I will make these over and over! :

I used Cod and it turned out great. The mayo is my favorite part.

This is a great recipe. The only changes I made were: 1 I cut up the raw fish into cubes, tossed it in the spices, and cooked it in the oven on 325 until done (I have a tendency to overcook fish on a flame - it came out very juicy and moist. I also omitted the mint. Just not a fan. All of the other flavors were great, and my husband, not a fish fan, went back for 3rds.

I made this last night and it was absolutely delicious! I wasn't able to find the ancho chili powder so substituted chipotle chili powder. I think this made the fish spicier than it was intended to be so we didn't need the banana peppers. I would definitely make this dish again. Thank you, Aarti

This recipe is full of flavor! Made these tacos for a group of people that were slightly skeptical of "fish tacos" and everyone loved it and even got seconds. I will certainly be looking out for more delicious recipes from Aarti!
