What is not to love about Aarti? She is the perfect way to start Monday morning before work, in my time zone (PST So enchanting! So charming! What a great attitude. We need an Aarti Party every day in America. I totally agree with Kimmie 3383. You know, you open the package of hot dogs and then grill them, chili dogs, then really this recipe gives you another healthy way to eat those hot dogs and use them up, now that the kids are out of the house! I first saw the recipe on The Best Thing I Ever Made show like Laka Monster, but I loved watching this show and hearing a her talk about her mother. In the other show, I think her husband eats the dish and they have a nice college memory. She totally is a GREAT addition to the Food Network.

Thanks to Aarti for really getting me to like ginger, I always used to think it was too overwhelming but this dish balanced perfectly!!!

This was excellent. To those who are reading the reviews, please disregard the ijits who substitute items. Common sense says to make it EXACTLY per the recipe the first time, THEN subsequent trials call for making it your own. I especially like the people that "don't eat hot dogs", but make this anyway. It was a great introduction to Indian inspired food.

We made this today for an early dinner. My husband and I both loved it. I cut down on the garlic (2 cloves instead of 4 doubled the garam masala and instead of adding water, I simply added a roma tomato. We also used uncured chicken franks instead of beef. I had mine over brown rice and my husband had his in corn tortillas like tacos. I let it simmer for about 25 mins to let the flavors coalesce. We had to stop ourselves from licking our plates!

We thought this was excellent! After watching "The best thing I ever made" starving, little, 'ol me ran to the grocery store to buy hot dogs and pita bread (the rest I had at home. I came home and within half an hour we had our "TV" meal ready! I used white pita because I couldn't find whole wheat, regular paprika instead of spanish smoked (ran out of that one, omitted the carrots, and used local Hawai'i style hot dogs, Redondos, instead... I also added a bit of chili flake for some heat. It was shockingly good. We each ate 2 pitas full, and promptly passed out. I woke up only to write this review!

This was a fun, easy, quick "go-to meal" when you need to cook but don't really feel like being in the kitchen. What a delicious way to take the hot dog and elevate it to something special. Loved the flavors. I added about a teaspoon and a half of siracha. We like spice and this gave it just the right amount of kick. I was very generous with the veggies and added a bit more liquid than recipe called for and it was perfect. My mom and daughter enjoyed it too. As my daughter said, "It's one for your box, Mom." That means we will be making it again.

Another 5 Star Aarti recipe! This is about as good as hot dogs get, and it's so very easy that you really need to have everything ready in advance. While hot dogs aren't necessarily a "go-to" in my house, they are a way to stretch a budget and I will be keeping this one readily in my pantry. Thanks, Aarti!

Just okay. The spices were weak. It needed a little punch.

Oh sooooo good!! I hate hotdogs and never eat them. Well I was desperate as all I had in the fridge was hotdogs. I made Aarti's recipe and have been a fan ever since.
