This was actually quite tasty. It hardly tasted like hot dogs at all. I used the Hebrew National 30% less fat varity. If your looking for the taste of a hot dog don't make this recipe. It is a very grown up version for hot dogs. I think this would make a great appetizer for a party. Just cut the hot dogs into a larger size and tooth picks of course.

My son loved this recipe, so I am giving it 5 stars, since he got me started with Aarti and I made it for him. But my husband wasn't too keen on it--he has certain expectations for what hot dogs ought to taste like.

Wow, I liked it! I'm not that big a fan of hot dogs but the Hebrew National ones were great! Easy to make. I served it over Basmati rice and it was delicious! Next time, I'll add a little heat and cut my carrots into coins, I think, and halve the tumeric for a less mustardy taste. I would definitely make it again - in fact, I'm making it tonight!

I've made many of Aarti's recipes over the past few weeks and most have been excellent, but this combination of Indian flavors and hot dogs just didn't do it for me. It seems as if the flavors of the spices and the hot dogs didn't play nicely with each other. I will continue making Aarti's other recipes -- especially the Massaged Kale Salad and the Indian Summer Stew -- but once was enough for this one.

Made this one twice so far. Liked it enough after the first time but the second time I made this I served it over mash potatoes. Wow! It was wonderful. I will be serving it that way all the time now.

Good enough to finish what I put on my plate, but not keep the leftovers. We won't be making this again.

I've made this recipe twice now, and loved it both times! The first time I used a spicy chicken sausage, and the next time I did use the hot dogs. It was fantastic both times! Great recipe!

I never thought of combining hot dogs with garam masala. I loved this dish - it was simple and different at the same time. The cilantro gives it a fresh kick at the end. I was not a fan of the lentil dish that was prepared with this recipe - I may try a rice dish in the future - or if you eat pita, flat bread, or naan with it - rice or lentils is probably not necessary.

I had never made or had anything even close to Indian food, and I wanted to try something new for my 20th birthday. It turned out great! Big hit, even with my mom who can't handle the "spiciness" of ketchup at times (how it's spicy, don't ask me.
The only thing I couldn't find was the spice mix, so I just used curry powder and a few pinches of sugar.
