This recipe was fantastic. I grew up with my mother's recipe for pineapple bread pudding at every Easter dinner, but this definitely tops it. I think this has to become a new Christmas tradition!

Made this last night for guests And it was all eaten (someone even licked the pan - <grin>

Substituted dried cherries for the figs. Still great!

having made New Orleans bread pudding for years i loved your touches and additions especially the coconut milk and figs. i thoroughly enjoyed the taste and the rave reviews it brought at a dinner party last night. i used coconut ice cream instead of vanilla. jeff lantz images

I saw the show today and just had to make it right away. My house smelled amazing and we couldn't wait to dig in. I'm not a big fan of figs, so my roommate suggested using dried blueberries. Such a great idea! This dessert was a wonderful treat while we watched the Emmys. It really is a hug from the inside out!

I saw you make this pudding on your show and had to try it. This recipe is the best for bread pudding ever. It was moist and tasted delicious. Used raisins and no cardomon (did not have. I cooked it an extra 10 minutes, since it did not seem done at 35. My husband totally agreed with me. Can't wait to make it for company. They're going to love it!! Thank you so much.

This turned out terrible! The bread was soggy and it tasted like a bouquet of flowers.
