Bread pudding has just never sounded appetizing to me. That is until I watched Aarti make it on her show last week. It was so yummy. I read a comment that said the person toasted and buttered the bread first, so I did that. The whole family loved it!

i found this recipe on aarti's youtube channel/blog as well. the other recipe called for 2 1/2 c. milk instead of 3 and fresh ginger. i followed the other recipe, and added more spices to taste and it was wonderful! i'm wondering who is transcribing the recipes here - there seem to be more mistakes than on aartiparty.com...

My husband LOVED this recipe so much - he had seconds! It is warm and filling and really good. I couldn't find dried figs, so I substituted dates and it was still very good. Maybe next time I'll try fresh figs. Very easy and highly recommended!

Very delicious. I replaced the milk for soy and it turned out great....and the figs...yes! Thanks Aarti ~

    The concept being 'borrowed'.

This pudding fell flat. Truly mushy and runny.

Yes, the BLC is good because it is a common base recipe for Indian sandwiches. The brits loved their cucumber and mint sandwiches :

I don't know what happened, but this just didn't turn out for me. There was way too much liquid. I had to bake it an extra 20+ minutes and it was still soggy. Also, there wasn't enough spice at all. I was expecting it to expode with flavor like her other recipes do, but sadly it was a dud. I love her other recipes and her but this was a mess. BTW, her massaged kale salad and her BLC are amazing!

I don't think the spice amounts are correct in the recipe... AND, I could have sworn Aarti used fresh ginger on the show... Good bread pudding, but the spices just weren't concentrated enough.
Bombay Joe's were amazing, as was the massaged kale salad!
