No flavor, my house was smokey, and i am not here to simpley put her down...i just didn't like this. I think I know why so many people do put her down however, because when the contest came down at the end, to when the people decided who was the best cook, they didn't pick her, and yet she won...it was from the start known who was going to win...it was not a fair contest. but that's not a reason to attack her personally.

Unfortunately, this was a waste of time. The chicken was not flavorful even after I doubled the ginger, zest, and cardamon. And to top it off the alarm went off even when I lowered the oven to 400 degrees.

Blah! I read other reviews noting that the chicken had very little flavor. To compensate for this I doubled the butter mixture and used it under the skin as directed and I slathered the extra all over each chicken breast. I then basted them with the mixture throughout the cooking process. Even with all that, they had almost no flavor whatsoever. Others also complained of the excessive splatter from cooking the chicken in a 500 degree oven. I dropped the temperature to 400 and they did crisp up just fine and I didn't have the problems with a messy oven. For me this recipe was a complete disappointment.

chicken was so moist. I used regular potatoes, cut in cubes..and they were great. A keeper!

I LOVE this dish! I had a dinner party and made this dish and it was a major HIT! So juicy and savory! To everyone who is saying that there was smoke: You have to use regular Olive Oil -NOT Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Regular Olive Oil can withstand higher heat.

    Great Job Aarti!

This was truly delicious. I waited until this chicken dish had been tried by many so I could adjust the heat. I started at 375 for 20 min., and then to 400 for 25 min. It spit a little...I would suggest you cook this with a cleaned oven, so the previous cooking spills will not smoke. The second night, I sliced the chicken and made wraps with fresh tomatoes from the garden, lettuce, avocado, herbs and salad dressing. Wonderful for company...and so easy.

Instead of chickent, we used oxtail. The meat was tender and butery.
