The flavors in this were no where near what I expected- but it was way better than I'd ever imagined. The lime gave it such a fresh kick. I didn't use the tumeric since I'm not a huge fan, but threw in some cinnamon since I tend to like that with squash. Yum! I'm planning on using the leftovers for a vegetarian pot pie tomorrow. That is, if I don't give in and have another bowl tonight.

I'd give it six stars if I could. My favorite Aarti recipe to date. Might be one of my favorite recipes period. I just bought another squash so that I could make it again soon.

This was absolutely delicious! I love it! Such delicious flavors. I used olive oil instead of canola oil-and I did not add the honey. I didn't think it needed it. This stew is 10 times better than any Giada recipe I have made!

This is a great, simple and wonderfully delicious stew. I have made it three (3 times since Aarti first made it on January 9. My husband loves it. It is just fantastic. I do not use the coconut, but I use coconut oil instead of canola oil. I get a wonderful coconut flavor with the oil without the chewy coconut! Thanks Aarti!

I thought this was spectacular! I followed the recipe exactly, except halving the crushed red pepper. I will base my next dinner party around this delightful stew. I immediately gave the recipe to my vegetarian friend. Yum!

getting ready to make now - do you use sweetened or unsweetened coconut? I have to give it a 5 star based on tasting the stew a co-worker made

I love this stew! I read the reviews before I cooked and read that it was sweet. Mine did not come out sweet since I used shredded coconut which was not sweetened. If I had added the sweetened coconut I would have had a sweeter stew. I could have made this without the honey for I like the spicy taste of Indian food. I used green lentils instead of the "yellow split pigeon peas" since I could not find locally. I would probably add less coconut next time, too much coconut texture for my taste. Overall loved making this stew and it smells wonderful!
