turned out pretty good! i made it with 85/15 ground beef and i felt it was a little too greasy. i didn't have garam marsala on hand so i used curry like someone else suggested. also i used smoked paprika (just because i love it. i did start out with a doubling off all the spices and then added some extra even on top of that. next time i'll try it with ground turkey and have some naan on hand but it was tasty.

This was my first experience with Indian food, cooking or eating. My kids and I loved it. What a flavor explosion in my mouth. I also shared it with some friends and got rave reviews. I followed the recipe measurements exactly and let it simmer until it was the consistency that I wanted. Will be making again soon.

This has become one of my staple meals. It is so good and rich and warm . . . Plus it really only takes 20 minutes to make and the only ingredient I have to buy is the cilantro. I keep most everything else on hand.

Really tasty. I took others' advice and added more spices than called for. I'm curious to try it with lamb.

The combination of spices was fabulous. I wanted something different to put over rice that was quick but good and out of the ordinary. This was it. Since this recipe is made to be eaten with some type of bread rather than over rice, I increased all of the spices by 50%, then dusted the meat mixture with a bit of flour to make a rue before adding tomatoes and water. My kids really appreciated the flavor change and are now more willing to try other things. Thanks Aarti!

Love the flavor and agree with others about the amount of water and spices. I would add water for a consistancy based on preference. I added a little more spices, but also made this on during my Sunday cook for the week and Monday it was amazing! Spices really had time to meld together.

Another hit in this house from Aarti. Used tomato paste as some others had suggested, but full amount of water; perfect consistency. Everything else in proportion as written (including the cayenne, which wasn't too hot for my 10 year old.
