This was great I've made it a few times and it's really good. I make enough so I can take it for lunch at work and when I heat it up my coworkers love the aroma. Thanks Aarti love your show.

Really delicious stuff. The caramelized onions "make" this dish. Next time I think I'd make double the onions because they added so much flavor to the lentils and rice. The latter don't have a tremendous amount of flavor all on their own, but the onions just make it all scrumptious. Thanks, Aarti!

Loved this. I've made it twice and my family gobbled it up both times.

I really enjoyed this dish. I think the pine nuts are essential. One difference in the way I made it was that I added steamed kale. I steamed the kale and then added it at the same time as the rice. It was quite good.

Oh My goodness! This is full of goodness! As good or better than the Mujadara that I get up the road, and way more healthy! Thank you Aarti!

Yummy! making this for dinner, again, tonight. As my husband says, this is a "keeper" recipe.

OMG this recipe was fabulous and easy. The flavors were great and was so tasty, I ate a plateful. I wasn't sure about the yogurt, but it was perfect, a great additional flavor.

Oh Aarti - we LOVE you!!! I have been cooking daal-type dishes for years and snagging recipes from my Indian friends. But this, this is amazing! My husband and I have been fighting over the leftovers. The carmelized onions and lemon juice really set this apart. Note to others: I just used brown rice and cooked it separately for 50min, then mixed it all in. The cayenne amount was just right and left the perfect taste of a little lingering heat after your bite. I could take or leave the pine nuts, though...

Yum! Yum! Yum! I just made this and it's a hit! We all gobbled it up (including my 2 and 6 year-olds. I decreased the cayenne to 1/8tsp because of the little ones and couldn't even detect it. I'll definitely add more next time. Plus, I didn't have a cinnamon stick so I just added 1/4 tsp. I think that was about right. I also checked the rice after 25 minutes and it was done. All the water was gone. I took it off the heat at that point so that the bottom wouldn't scorch. I followed all the other instructions and it turned out great. It was amazingly good. My husband has already requested the leftovers for lunch. This is going in my book for sure! Aarti, as always, your recipes ROCK!
