Love, love love this recipe! We've made it several times as written, and it never fails. Will try it with ground chicken next time.

My experience with curry is is to Worst Cook it by dumping in some curry powder and it always overwhelms. This homemade recipe is worth repeating. The curriness was refreshing! I only had white onions, had to grind my own corriander seeds, used tabasco sauce for heat, but will be sure to use the correct stuff next time. It was not as thick a sauce as I'd thought, may use uncooked pasta in the final cooking times. The lime was refreshing blasts in pockets of the sauce. Will use ground lamb next time...

I've never been disappointed by one of Aarti's recipes. This is absolutely delicious... like Indian comfort food with just the right touch of spice. Very easy to make... even easier if you keep Aarti's ginger-garlic paste around.

This recipe is DYNAMITE! I've made it countless times and never gets old. My partner loves it and my friends will ALWAYS eat their fill. I follow the recipe as is with only one exception: I add a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds and about 4 dried curry leaves to the oil when I put in the mustard seeds. By adding the fenugreek and the curry leaves it gives it more depth in flavor. Recipe is strong enough without, but I always like to take things to the next level! Love you Aarti...you are my hero :
*edit* I forgot to mention that I use a 14oz can of petite diced tomatoes instead of how it's listed. It's about the same as the 2 finely diced in the recipe but it much easier to just pop a can lol. I drain off the liquid and refrain from adding water. I just render out the juice from the tomatoes and it works out fine.

This curry meatballs recipe was amazing!! I wanted to make a curry without my usual chicken recipe because of time constraints. If you want something flavorful in little time, this is Great! I too eliminated the water as there is plenty of curry sauce without the water added. Next time I will buy 2 pounds of ground beef to make more meatballs--the sauce could take at least 25 meatballs. I also used yellow mustard seeds, because I didn't have the brown or black. My husband and I loved this dish!

I thought this was a great recipe. I appreciate Aarti's style of instruction. I added a few more shakes of the spices; I followed other reviewers' advice and added less water, but other than that it was spot-on and delicious. My husband and I both enjoyed it. We made it with steamed cauliflower that we shred to be like "rice" and I added cilantro and lime zest into the rice. The curry had a good amount of heat, but not overly spicy. It was comforting and flavorful. I would definitely feel comfortable following another of Aarti's recipes. Thank you!!

This recipe is absolutely to die for. It is such a hit in our household. The ONLY thing I do not do is add the water. It is already watery enough with the coconut milk and the tomatoes being cooked into it you don't need it. I also do more cayenne pepper because i like it spicy. Other than that I follow this recipe to the last ingredient. I just need to learn how to mince all that stuff faster, takes me a while for the prep work.

I made this with a Bobby Flay recipe for basmati rice with peas, but I used mixed vegetables instead.. I used about a cup and a half or two cups of crushed tomatoes instead of dicing tomatoes, and didn't add any water. Turned out great.

Yum! Cut the water in half after reading other reviews. This curry was great with meatballs, but I think I will try it with shrimp or chicken next time.
