My daughter and I decided to make the pulled pork after watching our first episode of Aarti Party. Enjoyed the episode but was disappointed that the recipe posted on the web site was incomplete. We did the best we could with the directions provided and the pork turned out fairly good. We're eager to see more Aarti Party episodes and hopefully the future recipes will be complete!

I really enjoy Aarti's show!
Letitia: She said "he's from Boston and he's my butt" not "he has a cute butt." Everyone has different thresholds. I found your spelling more of Boston more offensive than Aarti's language.
Kathy: what did susan say!? I don't see any susans anymore, they must of chopped her! :
Leslie: you HAVE to get a DVR! You will be sooo happy when you can use your minimal time to watch what really matters to you! Meanwhile, I have to disagree with you: I learned a lot in just two shows! Indian recipes often start by sweating onion, garlic, ginger and jalapeno. That's good to know. And I also learned about Garam Masala and Aarti's general spice tray. Ooof, I think Aarti won it when the Iron Chef's said "this is iron chef quality food" and "forget tv, lets open a chain of restaurants" after which all four iron chefs raised their hands and said "I'm in on that idea!" But I do agree with one thing you said: I REALLY hope she teaches some traditional dishes too! :
Meanwhile, the recipe is missing steps! And the order in the show didn't match the recipe!!! Shame on the food network site! I imagine the written recipe is more correct in this case. As to the missing steps, a few people explained it:
after the onion softens:
stir in the mango puree, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, molasses, worcestershire and salt and simmer 5 minutes.

Ararti,
This was the best recipe ever. My kids loved it and it made my kitchen smell great. This is better than going to local store and purchasing BBQ sauce. I love it, love it, love it!!!!! You are a delight and I am happy that you won.

This recipe is GREAT, as is Aarti! It is such a pleasure to watch Aarti, I have learned so much of what I am sure some think of as basics. However, cooking with your guidance is going to ruin my taste for the ordinary. I can't wait to try the chocolate pie! I managed found the candied ginger at the local Asian market.

I again watched your show and there are several things that "blew me away". Willl I ever be able to fix a Boston pork butt without remembering that it reminds you of your husband because he is from Bostin and has a cute butt??? Then, you taste it and say "oh my God" OFFENSIVE Last week you dropped something and said "damn". Leave the BBQ to Mr. Flay and your language somewhere else and not with the food.
Please watch Giada, Alex, Melissa, Ann, etc for proper behavior in exclamentions.

The BBQ sauce for this recipe was fantastic!!! I will definitely be making this over and over again. The directions for this recipe is incomplete though. Whoever wrote it does not tell you to add the mango puree etc., to the sauce before putting the pork shoulder in the pan... it's pretty self explanatory though... I just looked at what was missing from the sauce under the ingredients and I just added them all at the same time like she did on the show.

leslie, you must not have understood the concept. the point isn't to make traditional indian food. the point (according to the shows website is:
"The Season 6 winner of The Next Food Network Star, Aarti Sequeira, invites viewers to join her for a playful Aarti Party, where she shares easy and delicious ways to enhance American favorites with simple but unique Indian influences."
Maybe you needed to watch more closely before you reviewed without trying the recipe.

Love the show. I can't wait to get cooking. Just not sure where to buy mango puree?
