Was watching the show at breakfast time here in LA. As soon as Aarti made this, I ran to the kitchen. I had everything on hand, except for the almond milk and raisins. So I just substituted dried cranberries and a combo of low-fat milk and regular milk - just what was left in 2 cartons, I didn't check the ratio of whole milk to low fat, and it didn't matter anyway. This is a fantastic, fragrant, delicious way to enjoy an Aarti twist on plain ol' oatmeal. The cardamom is smoky, the honey is sweet, it's all delicious! The one thing I think I'll do differently next time, believe it or not, is to add a tad more salt to provide that extra note. I immediately signed up to offer my first-ever review with this one, and I'm devouring the oatmeal as I write this. I can't decide if I love Aarti's massaged kale salad or this more! Oh, I just love all of Aarti's recipes! Happy New Year! Aarti, you have started the 2011 party off sensationally with yet another superb recipe!

DELICIOUS!!! This oatmeal is just as yummy as it looks!! My family and I loved it! I used whole milk instead of the almond and I substituted pecans for the pumpkin seeds and I left out the raisins. We added brown sugar and it was perfect!! It really is the perfect breakfast for those cold winter mornings! And even better it's good for you! :

LOVED IT!! I made mine with vanilla soy milk and steel cut oats. I didn't add water at first but I really needed it - it was very thick without it. Even with the water I needed to stir often and keep it over low heat so the bottom didn't burn. I also used whole cardamom pods in mine - if you use them you may want to remove them prior to serving. Delicious!!

I just turned the tv on and saw Aarti and was so intrigued with her pretty outfit and the recipe that I just made it! I substituted nutmeg for the cardamon that I did not have and used skim milk with a bit of whole milk and topped it with pecans and banana slices. Loved the idea of using maple syrup. Also love the idea of having it for the rest of the week and hope there is some left over for tomorrow! Definitely a keeper! Good luck with your show, I am looking forward to more creative new recipes!
