I love this recipe. I tweeked it a little and instead of grapefruit I use lemon zest and juice. Last night I made the recipe for the 3rd time and I forgot I was out of cherries so I used dried cranberries instead and it was equally good. Also important to use a whole red onion. It really makes a difference.

Fantastic!! I've made several times with orange zest and juice from half an orange as I didn't have a grapefruit. It is great with extra nuts and dried cranberries. It has never made it into the lettuce cups my guys gobble it up before it has a chance to cool off enough. This is going to be a regular for me.

very tasty. i didnt have ginger powder so i just skipped it. only doubled the coriander, kept the other measurements the same, added a pinch of cayenne pepper. in addition to pine nuts, i added some chopped almonds, raisins, and dried pomegranates. would def make it again. love the nuttiness of the quinoa.

It smelled like very fragrant potpourri and tasted like it too...yuck!!! But it might totally be my fault because I was out of garam masala and I winged it substituting the ingredients...but very conservatively (I went to 3 different stores for it and couldn't find it when my supply ran out. I need to find a good Indian market. I also didn't have pine nuts. Maybe I'll try it again but with an orange instead of a grapefruit.

Loved it, very easy healthy meal. I also used garlic and added an extra amount of pine nuts, but besides that the recipe was great

Delicious! quite a hit as is but I'm definately curious to try it with the pears along with the grapefruit. Quinoa goes so well with grapefruit but the added crunch sounds interesting, thank you for the suggestion Bisouali.

Let me start with I made this with an orange instead of a grapefruit because I wanted to avoid it being bitter. Sadly, it was still slightly bitter. My husband liked it so that's a great sign. I will make it again, just less turmeric and hopefully it will turn out better.

This was a perfect quick lunch today. We didn't have the dried cherries or grapefruit so we substituted golden raisins and lemon. It was great!

Based on the reviews I made a few modifications and was very pleased with how it turned out! I doubled the spices, added some red cayenne pepper for heat and switched out the grapefruit with some julienne asian pears for a sweet and juicy crunch. Yum!
