This lentil soup is delicious. I agree, Food Network DEFINITELY needs a chef like Aarti. Aarti is making Indian cuisine easily accessible to the general public. This could be huge for the Food Network. She makes it look so simple to prepare, and it's delicious! Yes, we'd LOVE to learn about Indian spices and what roles they play in each recipe. This is one party I'd definitely be first in line for! There's a party on my palate and it's got Aarti's name all over it. I hope you win it, Aarti!!

Aarti's my favorite Next Food Network Star contestant, and when they describe her food, I always want to taste it! And then I realized a Food Network star would have the recipes here, and I decided on the lentil soup. It was the first time I've cooked this way - chopping and peeling, instead of throwing in some packaged spices, and the result was every bit as wonderful as they say! The flavors really are warm and complex! And it's the first time I ever fixed something with complex flavors! Thank you, aarti! The best dish I ever fixed and what an organically satisfying experience!

WOW! This was fantastic!! It gets even better the longer it sits in the fridge. I'm always looking for new, tasty & exciting meals and this one will definitely become a staple in our house! Thanks Aarti!!! Oh yeah, and super easy to make and the aroma is quite pleasant while cooking.

I LOVED this dish....it was excellent - i ate it with some naan bread and scooped up the lentils - soooo good.
First off, I would like to say that Food Network needs a chef like Aarti - with a different perspective and with a very cultural point of view.
Second, Aarti, please write a blog or something about Indian spices - educate us because we are dying to learn - where do you get them (your fave website to order them, how do you use them, what flavors do they impart - what makes a dish hot and spicy in your mouth - what just is spicy with no real heat? Tell me all!!!

I have never cooked Indian food and since our whole family has grown to love Aarti I couldn't help but want to cook her food! It looks so mouth-watering! I was inspired and ran out the next day and got all of the ingredients I needed at an Indian store. SO YUMMY I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN IT! I am craving it again today. Seriously, I have never smelled such a wonderful aroma and the flavor was beyond my expectations! A staple in my house. I have printed all your recipes and can't wait for more! I hope you win!!!

I have been looking for ways to incorporate more lentils into my family's diet, and this was a perfect addition! It is warm and hearty and flavorful - and easy. I've already made it three times - thanks Aarti!
