This was awesome! Our whole family loved this dish. Make sure you squeeze and drain the cheese very well to help it stay together.

Aarti, thank you so much for teaching us how to make a traditional Indian dish (and one of my favorites!. I love how you took the paneer and turned it into both a traditional and more western dish. Would love to see you do more of that!

Delicious. Multiple thoughts. 1. I could serve the marinated cheese alone as a tasty bite at a party. And for all of you who are leery, this basically is India's version of ricotta cheese. 2. This is a weekend meal, not a weekday meal, unless you like to eat later (I like to eat earlier. 3. Have your mise en place at the ready, as it cuts down on the actual cooking time. 4. Add more yogurt. I added an extra couple of tablespoons, and my husband and I both agreed that we would have enjoyed even a little more. 5. Huge surprise - could not find garam masala at the store, which has just about everything! Even if I had found store spice, it would not have copied, necessarily, Aarti's flavor profile. So I just mixed a little bit of ground cinnamon, ground cloves and ground cardamom in a small bowl, took 1/2 teaspoon of it, and called it good. And it was good! Try to get the proportions right, and you'll be okay. Loved this dinner. Definitely will make again!

I made this the day after I watched the episode. It's not my first Aarti recipe, and it certainly won't be the last. I'd never had saag paneer before, but it looked easy, fun and was, in fact, delicious! I'll definitely be making this one again, and making the paneer was certainly the highlight. I love food magic like bread and cheese making.

Amazing recipe ! Making the paneer was the best part- I used 1% milk to make the paneer and they turned out to be great. I cant wait to make dishes with my fresh homemade paneer.

Saag Paneer is one of my favorite dishes, but I never thought I could make it at home. Right after the show [7/29/11] I ran to the market to get the ingredients. Aarti made this dish SO APPROACHABLE. Who knew that making fresh cheese was this simple? And she is right, heating the milk took longer than I had anticipated, just as the cooking notes indicated. I got the garam masala from Williams Sonoma because I didn't have ready access to the ingredients for making my own blend. The final dish was delicious and I know I will make this recipe again. Thank you Aarti!

Tried this dish at an Indian restaurant and I am thrilled to now be able to prepare this at home. Thanks Aarti for the ease in which you demonstrated todays recipes 7/29/11 could be made.

I didn't know that my favorite Indian restaurant dish could be so easy to make at home! Unable to find paneer at my grocery, however, the homemade paneer was surprisingly easy and tasty. My husband insists that I put this dish in our dinner rotation! Aarti, thanks for all the great recipes!
