This recipe came out great, only thing I added was a little butter after it was cooked.

This was simple and the rice turned our perfectly. The best and easiest way I've seen to cook plain Basmati rice. It turned out better than following the directions on the rice package.

This recipe worked great! We made 1.5 cups with 2 cups of water so we yielded a little bit more. Then followed all of the instructions and it was perfect! Nice and fluffy. Washing is very important to get the starch out. Thanks for the recipe!

Perfect technique!!! The rice comes out great. You must try this method if you are cooking with basmati rice.

Perfect, perfect basmati rice! My package claimed "no rinsing required!" but it still took 4 rinsings to get the starch out! ; In the end I had beautiful, fluffy grains of fragrant rice. Will use this method 100% of the time now!

Perfect!! I've made basmati rice about 5 times before, using package directions and a couple of other recipes, but it never turned out like this. It must be the soaking that makes the difference. When I prepared the rice Aarti's way, I lifted the lid and shouted "WOW!" I was so surprised. The grains were long, separate, and fluffy! Now I know what it's supposed to look like. Whenever I make basmati rice in the future, I will be sure to use this recipe.

This was just as Aarti called it, Simple Basmati Rice. It was very easy to make, good and I appreciate the well-written instructions. I particularly appreciate the reasons for doing things, i.e., rinsing the rice. It makes a big difference when you know WHY you're doing something as oppposed to blindly doing things without knowledge. Thanks Aarti. I think you are FAB-U-LOUS. Thanks for just being such a simple person on your show-not complicated. We, the people, relate to you and we love your style. Please don't ever change.
