My husband and 10 year-old loved it - my daughter suggested that the sauce would be great over pasta as well!

After watching Aarti make this recipe I couldn't wait to try it. I had to substitute ginger powder for ginger root because the one at the store was too dark when I cut into it. This is wonderful. I love the blend of spices, the heat, the crunch, and the sweetness. And it was easy to make. Since I'm trying to reduce carbs, I ate it without rice or bread. I did share with co-workers who couldn't stop smacking their lips. YUM, YUM YUM. Planning on making it again next week. Will definately purchase a cookbook when she writes one. If you don't like to smell or taste Indian spices then don't make this. LOVEYAAARTI & congrats on the win.

This recipe was fabulous. Easy to make and full of complex flavors. I'm not a fan of raisins, so I considered omitting them. But I wanted to honor Aarti's expertise, so I thought I'd try it her way. I'm so glad I did. I think the raisins added a unique sweetness without being too obvious. Because we didn't have any buns, we served the Bombay Joes over forbbiden (black rice with the massage kale salad. It was a slightly sophisticated spin on the homey "joe." Bravo Aarti! When's that cookbook coming out?

After the chopping, this dish comes together quickly and easily. I loved the tomato-based sauce and kept wondering what other recipes I could use it in. My family thought his dish was outstanding and asked when we could have it again. There were no leftovers much to everyone's disappointment. I will have to double the recipe next time to keep everyone happy. Thanks Aarti for the wonderful recipes and show.

My husband is the chef in our family. My daughter, my husband and I loved watching Aarti win the next food nextwork star and now love to watch her new show. My husband made this recipe tonight and we all loved it! The flavors are full but subtle. The recipe was simple and the only change we did was substitute golden raisins for the regular raisins. This dish was absolutely wonderful! By the way, to all of the negative posters - why are you trying an indian inspired dish if you don't like those types of flavors -- please go away.

I made this dish with my two daughters. It was not difficult and we had a great time playing with spices that were unfamiliar to us. The meal was wonderful-even my very picky 10 year old loved it.

I'm with Michelle from Orland park Il... I have now made my family dislike Indian food with this recipe. We first tried the orange chicken. The whole family loved it. When I finally found the garam masala I made this recipe. I think it's that seasoning that we disliked. All the good reviews on this is the only reason I tried it. It took forever to get that odor out of my house. I wasted time and money on that dish. Luckily I found the seasoning at my local whole foods store. I only paid $1.77 for a small baggie. I wasted a lot of ingredients on this. I always double my recipes for my family of 6. I ended up dumping all of it out that same night! I will repeat the orange chicken but not this one.
