These were a little time consuming for a quick mid week meal, however they were well worth it. The flavors were awesome and we will be switching to this version instead of the quicker storebought mix version for good. I think I will make my own ready made sauce ahead and freeze it up for rapid preparation. Really yummy! Thanks so much! Can' wait for more good recipes.

I saw the episode showcasing this recipe a while back but just tried these Joes last night; however, using the same recipe, I made pulled turkey sandwiches instead because I only had boneless turkey breast. I used the turkey seasoning as my poaching liquid by adding water. I followed the recipe for the sauce. I used poblano instead of Serrano because I like poblanos better. All in all, perfectly delish! Can't wait to play with it again. : I also made Aarti's red curry with chicken tiki for mothers day and my Mom said it was better than the Indian restaurant we visited Mothers day 2010! Thanks Aarti!

Didn't know what to expect when read through the ingredient list given the sweet spicy and savory ingredients but this is absolutely fabulous! I substituted cranberries for the raisins but otherwise followed the recipe We have had it over rice and over noodles but my husbands favorite is using naan as the sandwich bread. Making it again tonite!

I had given up on ground beef and, therefore, sloppy joes years ago. But these made with turkey are totally delicious. My husband and I had seconds (and we hardly ever have seconds of anything. I use fat-free ground turkey and everyone loves them. One batch is never enough so I now make a double batch so we can have leftovers. My 5-year-old tomato-hating, bell-pepper-hating, onion-hating grandson proclaimed his "yummy!" and asked for more. Then when he saw the pieces of red pepper in the part that fell off the bun, refused to eat any more. Arrrrggghhhh! (The next time I tried using yellow bell pepper and that "disappeared" in the sauce better.

I have already made this recipe three times and I now proclaim it one of my favorites! Delicious and unique - yet it is a recipe even my adult son liked (and he is difficult to please with anything out of the ordinary. This is just the sort of recipe I am always in search of. Thank you Aarti! Keep up the great work!

Bombay Joes are THE BOMB! This has become our family's #1 favorite weeknight meal and started a love affair for me with Indian food. I've made this many times and here are a few suggestions to make it even better/more versatile: 1 Use NAAN instead of buns and dip the naan into the sauce rather than eat it like a sandwich. 2 Make a bit extra sauce - I often double up on the sauce and then it's kinda like a thick soup. 3 Serve the left overs over basmati rice for a whole nother meal 4 Saute up some veggies before adding in the ground turkey to make it a "1 pot meal" that's healthier. I use chopped carrot, chopped cabbage, bell pepper, and sometimes chopped fennel. 5 Don't skimp on the spices. I use heaping teaspoons and lots of ginger. Not only does this dish taste amazing but it has helped heal sick stomachs and colds in our family - I think there are healing benefits to some of these spices.

This recipe has me experimenting with different garam masala recipes...each has subtle differences. I created my first after looking on the internet and creating my first. It was the best. I used it up in the chocolate/garam masala cookies. I have made three morebatches, but each slightly different and change the flavor. Would love to get Aarti's favorite garam masala recipe.

Have made this about 7 times now, Crave this recipe, had to go and buy pistachios just to make this (I have tried with peanuts, too, when I was out of pistachios. I skimp on the oil and don't use the cream.

First try at eating or preparing food with an Indian twist. My husband and I loved both the salad and the sloppy joe. Could not find garam masala so I googled and happened to have all the spices on hand, so a little improvisation. Loved the sweet and spice with the raisins and the crunch of the pistachios. I will definitely make this again!

I just finished making this and it's simmering in a pot on the stove. I cannot tell you how amazing my house smells! Each step adds a layer of flavor. I doubled the recipe and added extra garam masala and cumin. Also a pinch of salt with every step and substituted honey with a little extra raw sugar because I just ran out! I will be coming back to this time and time again. I'll be serving it tonight for a dinner party with Naan so that guests can decide whether to eat it like a chili or like a sandwich. It would hold up either way! Would also be amazing paired with basmati rice. This is definitely a keeper!!
