The flavor of this soup was very gingery--I would have liked more savory notes. I did use bullion cubes--vegetable broth ones--but I should have added salt. We went heavy on the soy at the table. I swear when I was watching this episode that she didn't make a ginger-garlic paste--she just put chopped fresh ginger into the soup. I see now that the recipe ingredients have been changed, but the recipe still calls for the paste. Anyway, I like the idea of this recipe, but will have to play with the flavors.

Didn't like it, sorry, way to much ginger and garlic and even cutting down to a couple drops of sesame oil (it's too strong and overpowers taste didn't help. The corn made it too sweet for my husband. Had to dump it. Left an after taste for the rest of the day.
Have to say though, love the show and it's so refreshing to try something different for a change instead of the same ol same ol on FN. Your a delight to watch.

The soup was different than any I've ever made and was delighted with the results. I didn't have whole coriander seeds/whole peppercorns so I used 1 teas ground each and it worked fine.

This show came just in time. I starting feeling sick and made a huge pot of this stuff and lived off it for several days. Delicious and perfect when you are fighting illness. Made one substitution with a product called "Better than Bouillon" I picked up at Costco. Aarti you are the bomb and need to open a restaurant!

This was a very tasty recipe...however, it is time intensive. My husband thought it was too sweet, but I liked it alot.

I really liked this soup. I've never really liked cream corn so I was nervous and only used one can. Next time I will use two and if I like that just as much, I'll go for her suggested 3 cans. I love the ginger and garlic flavor. The flavor was definitely better the second day compared to the first. I added swiss chard because it was in my fridge and I needed to use it. I loved this addition. Delicious soup, I'm keeping the recipe. Thanks Arti, Keep up the good work.

Tried this the other night. I liked it but my kids would not eat it. This had way to much ginger for them and most of the family. Might try it again with only a little ginger (maybe one inch and none in the paste. Luckily my father in law took some or it would have been a huge waste.
