This recipe turned out fantastic. I love Indian food, but had not cooked it at home before. And that made the prep work quite entertaining. First, I found an Indian spice store not far from where I live to boost my pantry. Then, once Amazon shipped my new spice grinder, I was ready to go. The chicken came out tender and juicy and super flavorful. The sauce, I thought, was a little thin; so as I was cooking it I added a teaspoon of corn starch and a couple pats of butter. That made it luscious, if a bit less authentic. All in all a great cooking and eating experience.

I followed the recipe exactly since it was a family recipe and I wanted it to be exact so I could experience it as it was intended. IT WAS AMAZING!! The thighs were nice and tender and the marinade and the sauce were fantastic. The layers of flavor and the intensity was mouth watering. They were a HUGE hit with my partner and she isn't usually a fan of thigh meat. Her first question was how soon I could make them again. Excellent recipe, thanks so much for sharing it. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

I've made this recipe several times and it is always a winner! The yogurt sauce is outstanding. It is good with breast or thigh, and low fat yogurt works as well. I enjoy seeing guests reactions when I mention it has 11 herbs and spices and almost 20 ingredients. They think it's too much work, but my friend and I enjoyed the search for all the spices, it's part of the culinary adventure.

This was heavenly! I had regular cardamon, and no fenugreek seeds, but still the flavors were amazing. I too would will make more of the marinade so I can reserve at least a cup to make the scrumptious sauce. Thank you Aarti for sharing this wonderful family tradition.

This was 'the bomb' as my family called it! I did everything the same exactly as written. So flavorful and well rounded nothing overpowers the other. The only 'problem' for me if you will was that next time I might double the marinade and reserve a full cup of it to make extra of that fantastic sauce! I served it with brown basmati and would have loved extra sauce for it! You did it again Aarti! I also used both thighs and breast for we have white and dark meat lovers in this house and both were so tender and scrumptious!

The chicken was absolutely delicious. Well spiced, moist and juicy. Do use the thighs as the recipe suggests, the chicken breasts might get a bit dry. For some reason, the sauce bit didn't work. We tried to make part of the marinade a sauce, like the recipe says, but the spices didn't seem to cook well. We just had the baked chicken, and it was delicious, we didn't need the sauce at all.

My family really loved this even my picky daughters. I found all the spices fenugreek at store called Savory Spice they are also on the web. This store has a lot of great spices. This was the first time we ever ate Indian food.

This is great! I also used chicken breasts because that's what I keep on hand, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly and it was fantastic. I was surprised to find that the only ingredient missing from my spice cabinet was the fenugreek...I guess I keep a very well-stocked spice cabinet!

This dish was fabulous! I didn't purchase the individual spices because I bought a Tandoori spice blend at Penzey's so I used that. We're fortunate to have Penzey's locally! But I think the next time I make it I will purchase the individual spices to roast them and I am sure it will enhance the flavor.
