This was a piece of cake to make, and really impressed my husband! It was delicious, even though I just used what we had in the house. I used tabasco sauce for the hot sauce, omitted the celery root, as we did not have that on hand, and used a granny smith apple. It was sooooo yummy, and it got me eating more spinach than I would normally tolerate. My in-laws arrive next month, and I am already planning on making this salad upon their arrival. Kudos, Aarti! This is truly our new favorite salad.

This dressing is so creamy and unique. I have some leftover and am going to try it tonight as a dipping sauce for cooked shrimp.

I made this salad tonight for company and it was terrific. The dressing is fabulous...even better than a peanut satay dressing. Everyone loved the thinly sliced celery root with the dressing. I will definitely it make it again....don't skip the sriracha as it adds a nice spicy bite!

The salad was good but the dressing was delicious! My husband and I loved it. We put the dressing on veggie wraps the next day - it was yum! Artie we enjoy your show and look forward to more recopies.

Loved the combination. The combination of the spinach, celery root and apple was perfect. And served with the warm dressing, yum. This ranks at the top of the salad list at our house. Thank you

Loved this dressing! Had leftover dressing because I couldn't find celeriac. Ate rice and raisins for breakfast with the dressing on it. Love it, will be making it on a regular basis. I am going to continue to search for a celeriac and try the salad recipe again. Thanks soooooooo much Aarti. I can't eat eggs and this gives a creamy dressing without eggs. :-

I thought it was interesting that Aarti said the dressing should have the consistency of thin hummus, because it tasted almost exactly like hummus. It was very thick and creamy and I used all the juice from a jumbo lemon, and I had to incorporate more than 1/2 cup of water to thin it down so it was pourable. I grated the celery root (not shredded as instructed and this means it was in crumbles like granules of parmesan. I don't think there was any point in going to the trouble of buying a fuji apple, because there was nothing special about it. Any sweet crisp apple would fill the bill. At first I though she was calling for Asian pear, but she did specify Fuji apple. So, bottom line: if spinach salad with apple and celery crumbles tossed with a very hummus-like dressing sounds good, you may like this. I ate it, but was definitely not thrilled and will not make it again. Usually when 99% of the reviews are 5-star and there are a smattering of 1-stars, I assume the 1-star reviews are from people who can't cook or should not have made the recipe in the first place, because they basically don't like any of the ingredients. But in Aarti's case (I also made her I Ain't Chicken Chicken which was a total disaster I wish I had paid serious attention to the 1-star reviews. Before I cook any more of Aarti's recipes, I'm going to really take a good close look at any negative reviews first.

This salad was good. But there was something missing -- crunch maybe? Maybe I'll try it with a few toasted pistachios on top in addition to those ground up in the dressing. But I also thought something was lacking in flavor. Maybe I did something wrong.
