This is the first review that I have ever written on a recipe. I have to say that this was awesome! I have never used celery root before and now I know that it is not just an ugly vegetable. This salad was well worth the time and effort and I will definitely make again and again. Aarti, I am so glad that you won, your personality is great and your recipes are the best. Thanks and Congratulations!

I recently made this salad and the dressing is SO amazing! I was experimenting with the dressing and put it on my salmon then baked it... words cannot describe how delicious it was. Thank you for sharing this recipe... I can't wait to see what else you have for us :o

I made the salad and dressing exactly as the recipe is stated, and it was delicious. The dressing was tangy, flavorful, and creamy; and the apple + celery root combo is crisp and refreshing. I also made some grilled chicken breasts (boneless/skinless, that I marinated in lemon juice, garlic, cardamom, and ginger and it paired so nicely with the salad that I ended up putting it in the salad! I bet her "ain't chicken chicken" goes equally well with the salad. I'm so happy Aarti won!

This is an excellent salad. I have never tasted a dressing quite like this one...in a good way! The saltiness of the dressing was perfectly complimented with the sweetness of the apple. I also could not find celery root at my local grocery store, but I didn't feel as though it took away from the salad. My boyfriend found the dressing a bit salty for his taste, so if you don't like salt, you don't need to add additional salt on top of the nuts...

I made the Ugly Duckling Salad without the celeriac because the large chain supermarket I shop at, which is usually dependable on produce, doesn't carry it...in fact, the two produce workers I spoke to didn't know what it was! I substituted jicama, shredded, and it was really tasty! Love the garlicy, nutty dressing! I'll keep looking for celeriac because I'd like to know what the salad was really supposed to taste like!

The pistachio dressing was quick and easy in the blender. It paired beautifully with the crunchy apples. The salad was such a hit that my 21 year old son went home with the recipe!

Whole family raved! Was like a tangy pistaschio tahini dressing. I decreased the amount of water by half as we don't like runny dressings and I'm always cautious in adding water to recipes. Love you, Aarti. Your show is becoming a family tradition!
