May daughter had major surgery and I went to her house to try this new recipe. It was me & my husband and her and hers. Well , her teenaged son and friends showed up after all was done. Needless to say I didn't get any leftovers and teenagers ate meatloaf!!!!!! Thanks for a good one, would not change a thing. Nancy

This meatloaf is amazing, a little heavy but totally worth it! Don't leave out the Brats - it adds such great flavor and texture. Not one I will make on a regular basis because it is a little high in fat but every now and then this will come out of my recipe box for a nice little treat!!

I left out the Tyme and Parsley and used Mild Italian Sausage instead of the Bratwurst. We loved it. Since I like my bacon "wobbly" not crispy, that was perfect. The leftovers were great a sandwiches or reheated for later in the week.

    This meatloaf was so good!
I used regular ( breakfast sausage, and it turned out just fine.
And i we really liked how the stripes of bacon marked each slice of meatloaf too.
Let me also mention there was more than one person looking for lefteovers the next day....
    Thanks, Aida!!!

This is a great change from your basic beef meat-loaf. The flavor is just right and overwhelming. Used applewood bacon to tone down a bit. Awesome. Even my mother-in-law wants the recipe.

My husband is on a low salt diet so I changed the recipe just a bit. I used reduced sodium bacon and left out the kosher salt. I also only used one pound of ground pork and kept the other ingredients the same and it came out wonderful. My husband is not a fan of thyme, so I used marjoram like Aida said when she was making it on TV, it was great. I did turn on the broiler for the last 5 minutes or so to get the bacon really crispy. My husband and I loved it. Leaving out the extra pound of pork made just the right size for my husband and I to have leftovers tomorrow. He said the sausage made it taste like it would even be good for breakfast with eggs.

My two daughters saw this on Saturday morning watching TV in their PJ's. They taped it and said "mom you have to make this". So after watching the tape, I made it last night. It was very easy, and the flavor is delicious and moist. It looked exactly like I saw it on TV - I think it would be a great addition to a brunch with the holidays coming and my kids took it in a sandwich to school this morning. It is very good and will make it again. I made it exactly to the recipe and wouldn't change a thing! Very yummy!

I used some bread crumbs and some crushed up oyster crackers because that is what I had. I also substituted dill for the thyme. I bought fresh breakfast sausage at the store and used it instead of the bratwurst. Turned out excellent. My daughter who usually doesn't like pork except for Bacon. Loved it, as well as everyone else.
