The consistency was great,so nice and thick! I added a some frozen peas to the stew when I reheated it for the family. They all loved it. I did not add the bisquits, even though they sounded tasty. I will cut down the amount of red pepper next time and add some garlic powder to the flour mixture. I don't like my stew spicy. That is a personal choice. But, this one is a keeper!

Like a previous reviewer, I didn't make the biscuits, either (though they look delicious. I figured I'd make this stew and eat it for dinner for the next week or so, so I didn't want to count on biscuits making it the whole 7 days!
As a poor college student, I didn't have a dutch oven, and instead used a saute pan on the stove and then transferred the stew into a baking dish for the oven portion of it. The stew came out quite tasty (I just finished my first bowl! though I'll be sure to use 1/3 of the allotted cayenne pepper, next time. I'm not a spicy girl!

I made the stew last night and it was awesome! My hubby is a really picky eater and he liked it too. I didn't make it with the biscuits because I don't like soggy bread and wasn't sure how it would turn out re-heated. Maybe next time I'll try to biscuits too.

I made this today after seeing Ask Aida. My house smelled like heaven and the stew tasted even better! Even the biscuits were easy to make.
