I was excited to try these cookies because they looked so yummy on the picture and very festive. I was disappointed in the texture of the cookie. Mine got really hard shortly after taking them out of the oven. Plus, the orange zest really ruined the flavor for me. I guess I am just not a fan in that flavor when it is added to a cookie...it was a nice attempt. I had fun trying something new though. I just won't be making these again.

I tried the recipe last night. I made the dough and left it in the fridge for a few hours as the recipe said. Around 1AM I started to feel strong contractions and my obgyn requested me to go into the hospital. Before my hubby and I left for the hospital I baked a batch of cookies to take with us. By 7 Am all 25 cookies were gone. My husband claimed that he was nervous. I think the cookies were just FREAKING GOOD. Anyway, we got released from the hospital in the morning now I can bake the rest of the cookies tonight and give them a try too!

I just made these cookies tonight, and I love them. If anything I found the orange zest a little overpowering, I used fresh, so maybe that is why. I don't own a small cookie cutter, so I improvised and used one of my kids play-doh cutters, the star shape, it worked perfectly and I have professional looking cookies, that I found tasted just fine plain, and even better with some nutella in between them. Thanks so much for a great recipe!!

I enjoyed making these cookies. Made for a Fun and Festive Pre Holiday Mood.
The grocery store did not have Hazelnuts so I used Macadamia's. Not to worry, the cookies baked just fine. I found that you must work quickly with the dough once its rolled out or they got too soft to pick up and hold the shape while transferring to the baking sheet. I wish we could upload photos of our finished recipe, I took a pic and posted on FB though. They are beautiful... Hey, That would be fun, An online Bake-Off with photos on the Food Network. Lets Do It! Tasting would be a problem but all cookies are good unless burnt :- Have Fun with this recipe, FUN, FUN

I did make these and they were great! I used the 2 inch cutter and made the 2 dozen but te cookies were a bit too large and kind of thick. Next time I will use a smaller cutterand roll out a little thinner.I only had time to chill the dough for 30 min in the freezer and it was just fine. I even skipped the second freeezer step.

I just finished making these cookies and they will definitely be on my regular list of holiday cookies from now on. I always have a jar of Nutella in the house because my kids love to eat it as a snack with bread, but I never used it in a reciep. These cookies are the best. The dough was a little tough to work with and it took about 5 minutes to soften enough to roll out into cookies. I used a biscuit cutter and cap from a bottle to make the cookies and I got almost 3 dozen. I chilled mine in the fridge rather than the freezer and they still held their shape. I also substituted pecans for hazelnuts in the dough and they tasted just fine. The cinnamon is a great addition to the cookies and adds the right amount of spice to the cookies. I cannot say enough about these cookies! Great recipe!!

I love the Blackberry Pecan version! And unlike other reviewers, I did not have a Linzer recipe, so was not at all bored. And we got 2 versions for the price of 1 so all's good.
