It came out a little bland the first time. I made it again but replaced the salt with garlic salt and used a different veggie stock and it was awesome! Very easy too- just alot of chopping!
oh! also used celery instead of fennel and fat free half and half instead of milk.

Very easy to make. Chopping does take a while, but I didn't mind because the result was great. Like many others I skipped the fennel, added chopped green beans instead of just peas. Great recipe.

Delicious! I made some adjustments so that I didn't have to go to the store - used veg broth instead of mushroom, skipped the fennel and chives, and added celery, thyme and garlic (which I threw in with the herbs. Just served it for dinner with two meat eaters and everyone loved it! Full of flavor and so easy. It probably needs to sit for about 20 mins to thicken up, but we didn't mind. I will definitely serve this often!

skipped the fennel and added celery instead, used vegetable broth, soy milk instead of normal, no chives and added oregano and little garlic and it turned out great! the crust was a little soggier than i would have wanted but that was probably my fault. took a while chopping but otherwise it was pretty easy and tastes yummy.

Really good. Made for the vegetarians for Christmas. Added a little sherry and only one fennel bulb. Skipped the chives...store was out.
Everyone liked it, most had seconds, and a few asked for the recipe.

Good solid comfort food. I used chicken broth instead of mushroom and unsweetened almond milk instead of whole milk (just use a little extra flour to make sure it will thicken when you add the liquids. Turned out great.

This was a big hit at dinner. I used celery instead of fennel and added a little thyme. Good with mushroom gravy and cranberry sauce. Easy to follow recipe but lots of chopping.

One of the best recipes I've tried in a long time!!! I nixed the fennel (not a fan, but added celery, garlic, thyme, vegetable broth, and instead of just using frozen peas used a bag of mixed veggies. The taste was excellent, make sure to add salt and pepper throughout the cooking, otherwise it will end up bland. My vegetable mixture never thickened up like I thought it would, but I think that was my fault and not the fault of the recipe. Even my brother, who hates "vegetarian food" loved this recipe, it was a real hit with my family!
