This was a horrible biscotti recipe, I couldn't get the dough to come together it was so dry, maybe some milk or oil would help? very disappointing. I had to throw it away.

Less than one star! This biscotti is TERRIBLE!! I have been making biscotti for years and you just can't beat the basic recipe by Martha Stewart. I will never make another dish by this woman. She obviously never tested this recipe and I knew it wasn't going to work when I mixed up the dough, it was way too dry.

It was okay but you have to eat it with the lemon curd or dip it in coffee. The lemon curd was good, but I like it with the coffee. I used slivered toasted almonds and pecans instead of the hazelnut, it was good so was the brittle. Next time I make it I will try putting a little bit of sugar in it.

No wonder Alex dips this in lemon curd, they are dry & have no taste after all that work!! The recipe left the oil out. The show looked great but what a disappointment!!

watched this episode.....lemon curd recipe but not made on the show? hmmm....I do have a great lemon curd recipe I'll use - not sure I trust the one that accompanies this cookie. I, too, will make the hazelnut "candy" but will use a different biscotti recipe. Overall, Alex presents good ideas.

Has anyone made the lemon curd? I want to make it but not sure if it's worth trying.

You are right this is just a cookie. However this is the same chef that made sfoghiatelle look so easy. But it was a fraud as the sfoghiatelle she made and put in the oven were not what she took out. I quit watching her and don't trust any of her recipes.

If you watched the episode you'd realize she purposlymade these more cake-like and not in the traditional biscotti manner. Based on what she was trying to acheive I think these turned out great! Relax people, it's only a cookie! No need to be rude.

I wish there was a lower rating than one - like 1/4 of a star & it would just barely make that rating. One would think that for a person that acts so supreme when dealing out criticism's to actual chefs on a reality show - she would have all 5 star recipes! Alex this was just disgusting! As a fellow Italian you have missed the mark completely & have embarrassed all Italians - this is our signature cookie - no real way to mess it up, but you have obviously done just that! What a waste of money! Texture was way off - there was no taste to speak of, & it just plain sucked! You need to find some humility fast!

I was very disappointed; the Biscotti needed sugar, therefore it wa bland. The saving grace was Lemon Curd, it was excellent...Alex dear, you would be Chopped for lack of sugar in your Biscotti recipe...
