Total flop, liquidy mess -- I have four words to say: Thank God for Ina.

I would not recommend baking this pie. I followed the recipe exactly and now I wish I had read the other reviews before I baked it. The final product is a pie crust full of liquid. I don't know if there are any alterations to save it. There has to be a better blueberry pie recipe out there somewhere! This was a huge waste of money and time.

I thoroughly enjoy Alex's cooking segment, love her personalty and passion for food, and have enjoyed many of her recipes, but this particular recipe, although it did have wonderful flavor, was very runny and never thickened up. I really enjoyed the orange glaze and I added orange zest to the filling as well. Will definitely try to thicken up the recipe and make again!

Reading the reviews provided a lot of valuable information which made me wonder if the type of blueberry jam is the problem. Alex said, "make sure the jam is good quality." Living in a small town I only had 2 different brands to choose from. I think it would be interesting if everyone would post the brand of jam they bought to see if the jam could be the problem. Wish me luck.

Followed directions to a "T" and the pie was extremely runny. Basically "Blueberry Soup". Great taste, but disapointed otherwise.

I have made many pies without difficulty ,but unfortunately this was not my finest hour.
I have been looking for a great blueberry pie recipe for a long time and this seemed to fit the bill.
The pie even after standing overnight was like a chilled blueberry soup with a crust garnish. The thickening of this was just not enough ,The taste was very good but thank goodness I was only serving it to my family because I would have never served it to guests.I give it a thumbs down.

I'm really sorry I didn't read the reviews first. My pie came out way too runny - like everyone else's. This is a big problem and the recipe should come with a warning for people like me who thought it looked great on the show and trusted that it would work - this recipe is NOT as seen on TV. I'm really annoyed that the recipe was so screwed up. I made it and was having people over and couldn't even serve it. And it's not exactly cheap to make when you consider the price of the blueberries and the preserves. If I could give this recipe negative 5 stars I would. (and I did wait until the next day to cut it and it was STILL soup

Absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I wouldn't change a thing. Yes, I made Alex's crust, and it was awesome! This is the best blueberry pie I have ever made, and I know it was the prettiest!!! We couldn't wait 24 hours, so we cut it anyway. You would think the juice would soak into the crust and make it soggy.....it didn't! We finished it on day 4, and the crust was still firm and flaky. Also, the orange glaze is the signature for this pie.

I encourage anyone debating on whether or not to fix this to give it a try! I hope you will be as satisfied as we were!

I saw the show on Sunday and thought I would try this recipe with blackberries and raspberries as I don't like blueberries. I used store bought pie crusts, added 4 Tablespoons of Tapioca Flour to the mixture. Bake the pie a total of 55 minutes. The orange glaze makes the pie taste so good, don't omitted it.

The pie does come out runny from the oven, BUT if you make the pie the day before you want to serve it and allow the pie to rest for 24 hours, it is the best pie ever. It's not runny, you have a firm, great tasting pie. Enjoy with ice cream or whipping cream.
