If you're looking for a potato side to impress and satisfy the palates of family/friends look no futher. I doubled the recipe, added an extra potato, used the camembert and pinot grigio ("PG"for a little extra sweetness and the entire dish went in one sitting. If you don't have a cast iron skillet, use a pan that can withstand the temp in your oven and hope there's a little extra melted cheese to pick on as you clean the dishes. Fabulous!!! Pair with Alex"s spice rubbed bacon (hope I have the recipe name right and the compliments didn't stop! THANK YOU ALEX!! My son's b-day brunchwill be remembered far into the future for the love in the food! That extra heat in the bacon, PERFECTION!! One difference, use a challah bread, cut slices and toast them directly on the racks in the oven and serve the eggs on top, YUM.

These were fabulous! The best flavor addition in my opinion is from the white wine. It really rounds out the potatoes! I used half of the amount of cheese and may use less next time. Very tasty and now a permanent part of my brunch menu for when friends come over.

    Bravo!!

MY RATING ISN'T ON THE FOOD BECAUSE I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY TRIED IT YET... BUT ON ALEX.. I'VE NEVER SEEN HER ON THE OTHER SHOWS YOU ARE ALL TALKING ABOUT BUT I THOUGHT SHE CAME ACROSS AS VERY DOWN TO EARTH AND PERSONABLE. I DON'T THINK SHE EVER MADE THE CLAIM THAT THIS WAS FOR THE HEALTH FANATICS OUT THERE... JUST THAT IT WAS FLAVORFUL AND ONE OF HER FAVORITES... LOOKS DELICIOUS TO ME AND I'M SURE MY BOYFRIEND WHO HAPPENS TO BE IN THE GYM EVERY DAY WILL LOVE THIS ON A NICE RELAXING SNUGGLE UP TOGETHER LAZY SUNDAY MORNING... AS LONG AS ITS NOT SOMETHING I MAKE HIM EVERYDAY WE CAN AFFORD TO SPLURG ONCE IN AWHILE... IT ALSO DOES NOT SEEM LIKE IT WOULD TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE HEALTH APPROPRIATE... USE YOUR PAM AND REMOVE THE GREASE ... OR BETTER YET JUST DON'T MAKE IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT....

THANX ALEX AND I LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING AND LEARNING..

LOVED all the recipes on this program. Did not make them until this morning for a special brunch with friends and everyone raved. I've made a similar bacon dish (brown surgar with chipolte but combined with these potatoes they are all even better.
Have to agree with other posters: if you haven't made it don't post. It's not fair to those of us who are really interested in the "results"

These potatoes are delicious. I, too, used Brie and just cut about 1/2 of my wedge into chucks (about 1/4 lb maybe and put on top. Alex is a delight to watch!

Unlike many of the posters here, I have actually TRIED this recipe. I have no idea why people who haven't tried a recipe post a review. You are NO AUTHORITY if you haven't tried it, so please refrain from posting until you have. Yes, I had the very same thoughts many of you had about it being loaded with fat and calories. But that doesn't mean you can't make adjustments. I used 3 potatoes rather than 2 and used about half the oil & butter (actually margarine. I used Brie and only used about half of a 7 oz. wedge, and it all worked out great. My husband who was very cynical told me he liked it enough that I could make it again anytime. I served it with dinner, grilled chicken to be exact, so the fat & calories wasn't a huge issue. And we didn't eat the whole thing so I feel I did not overindulge in unhealthy eating. Now maybe some of you who haven't tried this & yet have given it a 1* rating will reconsider and give the girl a break.

I love to watch Alex. We all eat the wrong things sometimes. All things in moderation. Splurge occasionally!

Had to comment after reading reviews. Like Alex and the recipes sounded great for a special occasion folks - not every day fare.

You can always change the fat/butter content. I for one am going to make this recipe next Sunday - can't wait. Everyone I mentioned this show to is now going to tune in. Keep up the great recipes Alex!!
