I reduced the amount of sugar so it was comparable to the 12oz bag of berries I bought. And, I snuck in a 1/3 cup of grand marnier, just for the hell of it. The real star of this, though, is the spice mix. Lovely recipe.

This recipe was delicious - adjust the sweetness to your own taste. Those reviewers who have never tried it should not have weighed in with only one star! I love Alex - she is one of my favorites!

A number of comments stated the recipe is too sweet. I believe that is probably the case as written and also due to the fact that the recipe calls for a pound of cranberries, and most packages are 12 oz. Most people are probably using one bag of berries. I took the comments from before and adjusted the sugar. A scant more than one cup of sugar and a bag of cranberries, one navel orange, subbed one half teaspoon of cinnamon for the stick, and it tastes great! I love reading the comments on these recipes, everyone has such great feedback and tips!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

I made this last year for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! The only thing i did not do was use the orange. Other than that, it was wonderful!

I just think that this was the tastiest sauce that I have had. And bar none that Alex is your best chef. I hope that she continues to work with the food tv network. Alex is a true asset to your programs

Alex is amazing. I have made most of her recipes and they are all wonderful. I miss The Cooking Loft and I am hoping that her new show will pick up where she left off. This cranberry sauce is soooooo good that we couldn't stop eating it when I made it for Thanksgiving last year. I had to make a double recipe the next day to have with turkey leftovers. I only regret that I couldn't get fresh or frozen cranberries all spring and summer. I will stock up this season so I can serve it year round with not only turkey but chicken and pork. Thank you Alex. I look forward to many more wonderful recipes.

I loved this receipe, however I scalled down on the sweetner. Also instead of using sugar I used Splenda. I will definately make this again.

The allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg add a lot to this recipe. I reduced the sugar a bit, as I don't like super sweet cranberry sauce. It takes a minute more to add the spices and orange zest and juice, but it pays off with the tasting. Delicious!

I, like many others, have also never had homemade cranberry sauce. This recipe was very good and also very easy! Like some of the other reviews, I did find it too sweet-and I only used a cup and a half of sugar. I think next time I will only use 1 cup and see how that goes. I do like the orange flavor in it. We also added walnuts-may sound weird, but they go so well with the cranberry flavor! Overall, great recipe.

I was skeptical making this, I have never made or eaten homemade cranberry sauce. It was amazing, the citrus flavor made it. My father does not eat cranberry sauce and loved it. I was concerned with the amount of allspice, I used half the amount and it was not overpowering.
