I just finished making this cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. It turned out amazing! I did not have a cinnamon stick so I just measured out 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. I used 2 (12oz bags of cranberries and then followed the rest of the recipe! I think it will be a hit!

We made this last night for our Thanksgiving "scrimmage". It was really good, but we made some noteworthy changes. We added 2 bags of cranberries and left the rest of the recipe as is. This recipe was eaten and enjoyed by two of our "no-thank you I don't like cranberries" family members (including me. One change we will make next time is that we will reduce the amount of allspice... it was a little clovey.

I have made this for 2 Thanksgivings last year. Very very good- it puts the can stuff to shame. I used 2 bags (12 oz. of fresh cranberries. Also, I took the multiple notes for the excessive sweetness, so I only used 1 1/2 cups of sugar for the 24 oz of berries. I think the key to this recipe and the sweetness factor is to taste it along the way and adjust it as needed. I personally liked the slight tart taste, but some berries could be sweeter/tarter than others. I only used half of an orange for juice and half of the orange's zest, plus about a tablespoon or so of lemon juice (to brighten the flavor a tad. If you wanted more sweetness, perhaps add more orange juice. The spices give it a really flavor. I several people ask for the recipe since last year.

Great cranberry sauce. The warm spices made it special, but it was so simple to make!

I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. Even after Thanksgiving, when leftover cranberries were on sale, I picked up a few bags and made this dish just to snack on. Was almost like a desert for me.

This is by far the best cranberry sauce recipe on the web! I've made this for Thanksgiving & Christmas dinner for the past 2 years and everybody just loves it. There's rarely any left but what little that is left is absolutely excellent when spread thinly on a turkey sandwhich using leftover turkey. I've given this recipe to at least a dozen family & friends and none of them will ever eat cranberry sauce out of a can ever again! Thank you so much for sharing this receipe with everyone. My family, friends & I thank you!!

Delicious and easy! This one is a keeper for sure-made it for Thanksgiving 2010. I was a bit rushed so rather than measure out the cinnamon stick(which I actually didn't have, allspice and nutmeg I added about a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice instead. Turned out fabulous. This was my first time making cranberry sauce w/fresh cranberries and I honestly can NOT justify buying it every again.

This cranberry sauce is perfect. Absolute perfection. I made it for Thanksgiving 2010. It was the first time I along with many other family members tasted it. Everyone LOVED it; it was a complete hit. Days after Thanksgiving, when people were home in other cities, they called back to say how good the cranberry sauce was. 1. It's easy. It literally takes no time to make. 2. The spices in it are perfect. There are a few cranberry sauce recipes on FN, but this one has a little extra something with the spices. 3. The orange was a perfect pairing with the cranberries. To address those who think it's too sweet: break the sweetness with the orange (as someone else said. The orange just has a way of cutting the sweetness (I tried it. And try adding the sugar gradually, and not all at once, especially if you know your sweet tooth isn't that sweet. This way you have more control over how sweet it gets.

I make cranberry sauce every Thanksgiving only for my daughter because no one else eats it. However this year I did your recipe and was actually amazed and delighted. Everyone loved it. It is very simple and will now be done every Thanksgiving. Thank you so much.
