I?ve never tried to make anything like this before and boy was I surprised at how good it was. This summer has been crazy hot so I?ve been looking for ways that provide a refreshing way to satisfy the sweet tooth without the heavy feeling that comes along with many of the traditional desserts. It was delicious and light and the only ?issue? I had was that having never made ?caramel? before, I was scared and should have cooked it a little longer as it drizzled over the custard more than how it appeared on the show?.it still tasted amazing! Thanks for the idea Alex!

For those of you who called it a flan it is NOT a flan. It is exactly what she called it. Very easy to prepare... but i felt that the measurement for the caramel could have been adjusted. Just an ok recipe for me and I would not make this again. Im more of a flan fan I guess. But I would suggest adding a zest of orange or lemon to this recipe and it would be much tastier.

The recipe is great. It does exactly what Alex stated on her show. It is creamey and sweet enought. It is just right. The other two reviews just wanted to tell the chef it is callled something else giving the recipe lower rating. Too bad for them, so if its called a Flan or Cream Caramel who cares, it great. So try it before reviewing. The recipe is something I will make over and over.

She made it her own in the way that she prepared it! You go Alex!!! She made me feel like I could do this, and I did!!! This desert was excellent! I loved the simplicity of this recipe & found it to be somewhat unique in taste!! But keep in mind, I'm talking about my taste buds. To me it didn't taste quite like flan, and that was perfectly fine. Even though it looked somewhat similar, it just wasn't as dark in color, and it had a lighter taste, not as thick or dense. For me, this recipe is definitely a keeper. I enjoy watching your show Alex, and think you have a beautiful smile. When it comes to cooking, you always educate me in some way or another. Thank you, I appreciate that.

This IS Flan....I love Flan, it's lighter than the Creme brulee.

There are different recipes out there,I just want to know if her recipe worked well? It looked good on the show...

as the headline says, why not call it flan? It's so close to flan Alex could at least say it's inspired by flan.

Two stars for not referencing one of my favorite deserts served with those burritos.
