Thanks for the recipe Alex.

Jam was great! Doughnuts were okay, but it's a really fun thing to cook with your kids!! :D Probably could have turned out better, but having my son help me make them was well worth it! He thought it was the best thing ever! What kid doesn't love homemade doughnuts!

I tried the donuts. I cut the recipe to 1/4 and still got 18 donuts. They came out so light and fluffy. I put some in the cinnamon and sugar and poked a hole in a side and piped strawberry jam, rasberry jam and custard. The filled ones I dusted them with powered sugar. Better than Bakery donuts.

I have to say, I haven't made the donuts yet, but I certainly intend to. Not all Californians are lettuce only eaters. I am a very healthy eater, but I do go "outside the box" and make some very decadent tasty things sometimes and this looks incredible. The thing about Alex is she approaches food in the most personal way and I smile all throughout her show! She is my fave, and I missed her after the The Cooking Loft went off the air, I love her on Chopped - and really on anything she does. Keep up the great work, Alex! You are an inspiration. A note to Food Network - Alex is "She Who Must Always Have a Show."

These were the best donuts I've ever made! I try a new recipe each year for Chanukkah and when I saw this recipe I had to try it. They came out light and airy. To ensure that they come out perfectly I would recommend investing in a thermometer. YUM!

I don't know what happened to me as I consider myself an experienced baker/cook. The donuts were tasty when I fnally got them done, but they cooked all too fast at first and were "raw" on the inside. I had to turn down the oil considerably. Then I put the donuts in the fridge for at least 20 minutes thinking the dough was too warm. I'm not sure I'll try these again as the wait time was long and really not worth all the work. I think I'm going to stick with biscuit donuts or go to my local shop.

First off let me say OMG, these were sooo good.
Now for all you who are all constipated about the oil, on top of grease, on top of fat food that some of these chefs use, well hon I understand completely. Ya know it is just a fact that people who are on those extremely low fat diets are miserable and unhappy, cause their food don't have a lick or a plromise of flavor. So hon just get off the pot and get your panties out of that bunch and move on to the hay section and leave use happy smiling folks alone!!!
I don't come gripe about your leaves and twigs so get your nose outa my fat and we will all get along just fine.

Wonderful recipe! Light and airy! This is one of my favorite recipes, and my family keeps asking me to make and re-make these. Thanks, Alex!
