Delicious. I used tequila instead of vodka, and added a teaspoon of sugar (simple syrup would have been better b/c it was a tiny bit too bitter for me when made as written. But totally refreshing. Wonderful cocktail.

This was very nice! I actually made a simple syrup and added it to the drink and loved every second of it. Had one once at restaurant with a hint of fresh basil that was delicious, looking forward to trying that one at home!

Ahhhhhh....Alex! This woman knows good cocktails!
Others reviewers reference this as a summer cocktail...BUT...winter is prime season for all citrus, grapefruit included. So this is a wonderful winter cocktail. Starting just about now, late November.
Also find that squeezing the fresh grapefuit juice makes all the difference between a good cocktail, which it will be with a pre squeezed grapefruit juice, and a stellar cocktail. If you make this when Meyer lemons are in season - roughly late November to May - and use them for the fresh lemon juice component, well then this is an incredibly stellar cocktail!
My fav orange liquer for this is the one made by Patron; it lends itself to the fresh juice taste of the drink.
Shaking this well is key to good outcome. And I actually prefer to serve this over ice in a short highball glass.

This is my "go to" drink for the summer. I use Simply Grapefruit bottled juice, and it makes a wonderful cocktail.

Really easy to make. I also used a ruby red grapefruit drink (sugar free powder mix and it was delicious. We'll definitely add this recipe to our summer drink must-haves! Refreshing and sweet.

I did use bottled ruby red grapefruit juice, but it was still very light and tasty. Perfect for these hot, humid summer afternoons!
