Easy to do and the longer they sit the better they taste but I have to agree...too salty!

I thought these were tasty but too SALTY!! I will try these again and reduce the amount of salt to see if that helps. I did add peppercorns and garlic as some readers suggested and thought it really added to the flavor of the pickles.

Loved, loved, loved these! However I did add extra vinegar, a big dose of garlic, and jalapeno and serrano peppers for just a hint of spice (plus you can eat those pickled, too. These were so incredibly easy to make!! My husband loves them.

Wonderful, easy, quick way for delicious deli-style pickles. These were near perfect the 1st time I tried them, but second time around I crushed a few garlic cloves and cooked with the brine and my family and I are in pickle heaven! And to think - I'd orginialy planted cukes to have more salads this summer, but this recipe has changed the fate of some of those cucumbers. I'm staring at 6 lovely jars right now... Thanks Alex!!P.S.: They DO go fast!

I have a question? Am I suppose to leave the brine on these pickles. Thought I might have missed a step?? These pickles are very crisp but very salty. I did use the sea salt. I rated just a
star because I need an answer to my question.

Ok. I made them with thick slices of cucumber instead. Great. I would reduce the salt and more vinegar, add garlic cloves, along with the peppercorns. More importantly, I put them in the fridge immediately, and they were ready to go in 24 hours...no need to leave out. They were great. Cant wait to try the same idea with hot peppers from the garden!
