I grew up in Burbank, California. After church on Sundays we would go to Monte Carlos Italian Market. And then to Martino's Bakery where my mom worked. One of my favorite things was these pastries. They were awesome. The ones Alex made looked very close. I would like to thank you from all of the Italian-Americans who can now enjoy this wonderful treat. Fran

I grew up on Long Island and my dad had a pharmacy in the middle of a shopping center. On one end was Rossini's bakery...omg the smells we met up with every day as we opened our store. One of my most favorite pastries was Sfogliatella and I always wondered if it was something I could make at home. YES! I will make this next week...wish i had seen this last week. This would have been great to bring to my friends today. Instead i made cookies.

I fell in love with this pastry decades ago when friends would bring them back to Pennsylvania from New York or New Jersey and have always wanted to know how they are made. The problem has been that I did not know how the name was spelled and now that I live in the South such things are even more difficult to find. I can not wait to recreate them.
