This was the first time in 20 years that I have brined a turkey. I was skeptical at first, but thought I would give it a try. Now I am a convert. The turkey was moist and delicious. I did not have to add any additional seasoning to the turkey after the brining. I thought it might turn out too salty. It also cooked a nice golden brown. I will definitely hold on to this recipe and use is not only for Thanksgiving turkey, but any other time of the year.

This was my first time brining and it was very easy to do. It seemed like a lot of butter at the begining but it made a very moist turkey. The bird cooked and browned faster than normal. My parents and inlaws both commented on how moist the white meat was. This recipe will be the new standard in my house.Thank you

I love brining turkeys and to see this unconventional recipe I figured I might as well give it a try. My only complaint is that the honey and molasses caused the turkey to brown much faster than I would have liked. Of course, that is to be expected when cooking with sugar based ingredients. So, I recommended covering the turkey until the last half hour of cooking and you should get a nicely browned, moist, uniquely flavored turkey.

This was easy and the turkey turned out moist and delicious. I've been brining for a few years now and thought that the molasses, soy sauce would impart a different flavor. I honestly didn't pick up on those flavors or the garlic/hot pepper, so didn't impart a 5 star rating. I would use again, but there are other brining recipes (the key is sugar and salt on this site that are less expensive to put together and equally delicious.

This was the first time I ever used a brine on my turkey. My turkey was so juicy and flavorful. Everyone loved it. I did not even have any leftovers. Thanks Alex for a recipe that I will use from now on.

I had to write to let you know that this was the best turkey I've ever cooked. The meat was so moist and flavorful, that I will be making this again...and not just for Thanksgiving. My entire family loved the flavor and moisture of the bird so much, that they welcome another round of turkey, whatever day the calendar says! Thanks so much for a wonderful recipe!

This was the best Turkey I have had in years. I let it soak for 2 days and I put apples and onions in the cavity when I cooked it. Couldn't asked for a better brin. Thanks for the recipe.

I've been cooking turkeys for 30yrs, they're always a crap shoot, but this turkey was amazing! The brine adds wonderful aroma, flavor and the turkey browned beautifully. I did keep it foil tented during the roasting time. Thanks Alex!

Thanks Alex for the great recipe. We followed it as best we could aboard the tugboat, and the whole crew enjoyed it. I love the Lemon/Butter flavor, a new flavor profile for Roast Turkey I had not had yet. Very well received by all.
