The recipe is fantastic. It took me two tries to make the dough - the first time the milk was too warm and I killed the yeast. I think it might actually be easier to heat the milk for about a minute or less in the microwave. When you add the yeast, sugar, and half cup of flower, the mixture will foam a little, and that's how you know you have it right. I mixed in the flour 1/2 cup at a time, and it worked out really well.

I can't wait to make these pretzels again! They even got the dad stamp of approval and mom said that they made the house smell really good. Oh, and next time, I'm mixing jalepenos into the dough. Also, the pretzels were a little smaller than I was expecting - the dough kept shrinking on me, but they were still delicious.

These pretzels were awesome! My daughter and I had fun making them and they were the best we ever had. We made them into pretzel bites, which gives them a crispier texture on the outside. We suggest brushing them with butter after they come out of the oven as well as brushing them before baking. Yes, butter is fattening, but it is well worth the calories on this recipe. Just eat a few pretzel bites, not the whole batch!

This was the second time ever making pretzels. This recipe outdid the last one I tried. I will be making these again very soon.

Working with yeast can be intimidating. With following this recipe exactly and having patience it was easy, and even fun to make the pretzels. This dough base is very delicious with scope for adding other ingredients as other reviewers have done. I have tried it as a mini thick rising pizza base and added less butter- delicious!!!!

These were wonderful but instead of 8 tablespoons of butter at the end, 2 brushed on tastes wonderful. And makes it a little easier on the calorie side.

Wow wow wow!! Loved these. The butter at the end makes all the difference. I only brushed with a pastry brush but these were very easy and they taste every bit as good as a carnival or state fair kind of pretzel. Of course to me they're better because I made them at home :

A friend of mine made these after I gave her my Food Network Magazine. They are just great. Being from So. Jersey, I love pretzels.

I could have eaten the entire batch, but she only brought me two!

I was completely intimidated by the thought of using yeast, but this recipe took all that scare away. The pretzels were incredibly delicious. My boyfriend told me that nothing was better than Aunt Annie's pretzels and after I made this he wanted me to make another batch! The BEST recipe.
