Taste was just "ok". I used several different kinds of apples and only 1 tbsp of honey whisky. It just wasn't sweet enough for me. I added more honey and a little brown sugar after it was done.

This tastes so much better than store-bought applesauce. I'm usually allergic to fresh apples but not baked apples so this was a great way to use up a bunch of apples of almost any sort or mix without having to bake a pie or other pastry which tend to be unhealthier. This recipe is easy to scale up or down. It's so simple and you can modify it to taste.

Hands down the easiest applesauce recipe I have tried, and it's the most delicious one! Even if you don't add the alcohol, it's still yummy!

This recipe is so easy and versatile! I used a combination of slightly past their prime Braeburns, Granny Smiths, and Fujis with bourbon (I didn't have brandy and apple cider (didn't have juice and it came out perfect! Just the right amount of sweetness with plenty of personality. This is a great use for wrinkly or imperfect apples.

Good recipe. Applesauce was slightly tart. I added a little sugar and it went straight to 11! I'll be using this recipe (w/about 1/5c sugar as my go-to applesauce recipe. Amazing stuff.

I didn't have enough apples, but needed to use them, and I did have some peaches to finish it. So, I used 3 apples, 4 peaches and the rest of the recipe as is. I ended up having it by itself last night for dinner, with about half the batch left over. I really works. I can imagine this hot over some vanilla ice cream, or as a side to pork chops...but, that's another show.

I made the recipe 3 weeks ago and let it sit in the fridge. Once I found the right applesauce coffee cake recipe (not on food network btw, I decided to use it. Really great flavor and the right amount of sweetness. I trust Alton because he likes to research a recipe which I love doing also. And the applesauce coffee cake was wonderful.

THis is GREAT applesauce, warm or cold. The first time I made it I could not stop back for another spoon full. And my grandchilden just loved it. I'm on my third batch.
